Now that DC rates have been released, I've applied for a card and am hoping to switch my ressie over to the discounted rate. But I've heard that I cannot go through CRO to to this, that I have to go through WDW Travel Co. If I do this, and a better rate comes out later through an AP Discount or a Code, how much trouble will it then be to switch the ressie over under the new discount? Or could I just get the AP Discount or Code through DH's name and then cancel the ressie I made under my name with the DC discount?

I recently did this. In May I made a DC reservation for CBR. In July the codes came out and I called the DC 800# and asked if a discount was available. There was, so they cancelled my DC reservation, issued a credit, and redid it as a CRO reservation and charged the new amount. They did it without a problem, the cm was very nice about it. The credit for the old reservation was on my charge the next day, along with the new charge. Then last week I changed it to BWI with an AP rate because CBR was probably going to be closed. They redid the reservation again, but just charged the difference in the rate.

I guess I have the same question. I am going to call in the morning (if they are open on Labor Day) Tuesday if they are not and book a "room only" reservation through the DC phone number. I have a couple of other questions too.

1) What are the cancelation policies for WDTC and CRO(if thats not to complicated to post) I will go try to find that answer myself after I post this.

2) About when do AP discounts normally come out.

3) Does anybody know what the "basic" plan includes and how much they charge for the add ons. This one I should be able to figure out when I call. (rack rate x # of nights minus % discount plus tax, then figure the difference between that and the price they quote me) Right?

4) It look like ASMovies is included it DC discount (it has been excluded in many discounts lately) Does anybody know if I am correct in assuming this?

5) And finally the original question. Is it really that complicated to switch from a DC "basic plan" to a AP or other rate if its better if you are well organized and stay on top of it?

Thank you in advance for your help.

1. http://wdwig.com/resort.htm

2. they come out in blocks. I think the last 3 months of 2002 came out in late July.

3. the basic plan includes the room and an admission to Wide World of Sports or Miniature Golf. There is no additional charge.

4. not sure

5. see my post above, it was not complicated at all.
