switching resorts?

I am currently at Vero Beach... its a beautiful place... and on the beach etc... but its just not what we expected. I am here until Wed. Has anyone ever called DVC (or asked at the front desk) if you could move to another resort midstay? I dont care about the points. A 1 bedroom at Disney less than the points I have used for Vero. Just think we would rather be over in Disney for the rest of our stay. Dont know what I was expecting.. but there isnt much around here. THoughts? I guess I cant do anything until Monday, right?

If there are rooms, I don't see why they couldnt cancel and move the points to holding, and rebook.

I would call, but seems like it should work.

It won't hurt to call. They are there until 5:30 today.
I thought I read once you check in you forfeit points if you have to leave early, but maybe they can get you moved.

To follow up to this thread... I was able to successfully move to Saratoga SPrings... so tomorrow, we are leaving Vero and heading to Disneyworld... its very nice here. Very pretty... but just a little to quiet for us!

Thank you for posting this. I never thought of that. It is good information to know.

That happened to us where the kids were totally bored at a place we stayed for a week in Minnesota (through an RCI exchange).

I will need to keep that in mind if we are booking through DVC Points.

Oh, that's great news! With SSR and DTD, there is a lot to do without even going to the parks. Have fun!
