What is the fastest way to switch resorts? I am splitting my stay between the Caribbean Beach and Port Orleans French Quarter. I am not renting a car and had planned to switch resorts in the morning, check in, unpack, and hit one of the water parks in the afternoon. I know that the resorts will move your luggage for you, but that takes quite some time to do. Can you have them move your luggage the day before, so that it's there the next morning?

I have switched resorts countless times but have always had our luggage moved the morning of the move. I do not know if they will move your luggage the day before but you can always ask. It really does not take much time to have your luggage picked up but it does take possibly up until 3:00 PM for it to arrive at the next resort. One thing to remember is it is very possible that your new room will not be available until 3:00 in the afternoon also. If you send the luggage over the night before you will still have your toiletries, night clothes etc to transport yourself. Just a thought, but why not just have luggage services transfer your luggage the morning of the move and have yourselves all ready to go to the water park - you do not have to be out of the room until 11:00 AM. Then just take a bus to the water park and enjoy the day and when you are ready to leave take a bus to your new resort where your room will be ready and your luggage will have arrived! You can even call the front desk of your new resort from a house phone at the water park to check on when your room is ready and if your luggage has arrived.

We are switching twice this next trip. On our first switch I plan on taking a taxi, since we plan on spending most of that day at our new resort (Poly). I don't want to wait on our bags at all. For our second switch I may leave it to Disney and just take off to MK, since my room at VWL probably won't be ready early anyhow. I know my Poly concierge room was ready at 1PM in December.

We are splitting our 8-night stay between CBR and the Polynesian. Any idea what cab fare would be if we used a taxi to move our luggage ourselves??

You can't check in before 3:00 at any of the resorts. So why worry about your luggage when you could be having fun!

You can call bell services in the morning when you're just about ready to go, tell them where to move your bags to, go to the water parks, have a wonderful time, and take the bus to your new resort. When you check in there, they will get your bags out of storage and bring them to your room. We've done this many times and never had a problem. It really doesn't take much time on your part, because they usually will pick up your bags within 1/2 hour.

Since you have to check out of the first resort in the morning and can't check in to the second resort until afternoon, you really can't avoid having your bags stored at one resort or the other. So even if you took the taxi and checked in at the 2nd resort, your bags will be held in storage until your room is ready or you get back from your day out.

Just did a spilt stay this past April, between CBR & BW. Upon check-in at CBR, I asked about the moving our luggage & US and was told "No Problem, we can do that".....After 3 wonderful nights at CBR I called Bell Services and asked about moving me (as we also did not rent a car this stay) The women on the phone @ bell services told me that they could move our luggage for us, "But not us" and we would have to take a taxi or a Disney Bus to a park or DD and transfer to the new hotel. I explained that I asked this question upon check in and was told "No Prob" She said it was something to do with Disney policy and could not transfer guests. ?? Go figure..(like calling CRO and getting different answers to your questions!)
Well, when this nice bellman showed up minutes after my call, I was helping him out with our bags and mentioned that we were going over to BW and he says "Is your family ready now?" I said yes and he said "Hop in the Van, I'll take you over there with your luggage, as I'm not that busy right now!" I was floored, but took him up on the offer. I really wanted to go directly to the new resort as I had to purchase "new" UMP's for my girls, as the ones they used while at CBR, expired at midnight the night before check out and we planned on doing Epcot for the day of checkin at the new resort. We took the ride, checked in and of course our room was not ready (as we didn't expect it to be), got thier passes and we were off to Epcot. If he had not offered, we were going to take the bus to Typoon Lagoon as it is the closest to CBR and transfer to BW. Good luck in your quest....be nice to the bellmen too!
