So we have a split stay coming up in late August. Two nights at the Polynesian followed by three at the Contemporary. The morning that we are to check out of the Poly and switch to the CR is also our one day at the Magic Kingdom and we are also doing Early Morning Magic that day. My plan was to leave our luggage at the Poly and get on the monorail or the boat at around 6:30-6:40 in order to be at the gate to the MK by around 7:00 (entry to the park for EMM is 7:45). We will then spend the entire day at the MK, and then after an 8:25PM dinner at Be Our Guest my wife and daughter will walk over to the CR while my son and I will go back to the Poly to pick up the bags and join them. Do you see any potential snags in this plan and would you do something differently? We are not the type of family that takes a break in the middle of the day to rest so leaving the MK and coming back is the only thing that I would prefer NOT to do. Other suggestions/observations welcome!

I'm thinking that the monorail and the boat may not even be operating that early? What about the buses?

Why do you feel the need to arrive at 7am for EMM?

Monorail?
My main concern about using monorail with all your bags is that the security has been moved back from the MK to the resorts now. So you'll have to go through bag check at the Polynesian prior to boarding the monorail. That means security will require that you open every suitcase so they can dig through each of them.

Monorail? If for some reason that's not an option I suppose we could take a taxi over.
Luggage isn't allowed on the monorail.

Bell Services will send the bags from one resort to another for you, free of charge. Just give them a tip. If you drop it off to them in the morning before EMM, your luggage will be at the new resort by the late afternoon.

Sounds like a nightmare. Thanks for the heads up!

Yep. This is the way to go. Thanks!

You don't even need to drop your luggage at Poly bell services. Once you are completely packed, simply call them from your room and tell them you need to transfer your luggage to CR. They will come to your room ( you need to be there), collect your bags and give you claim checks. You can then spend the day at MK and go to bell services at CR when you are done.

Good to know. Thanks!

We did EMM a couple of weeks ago, and there's no need to get there at 7:00. If you're in line by 7:30, you'll be in great shape.

would you do something differently?
I would just arrange for bell services to handle picking up the bags - i guess you could drop them off to them as well - and have them move them to the Contemporary. So when your day is done there is not dragging bags all around, unless you have a car to move them.

I suggest arranging a pick up time by calling the evening before so there is no waiting around for Bell services.

Interesting you mention this because I have been considering renting a car just to make transportation smoother during our stay (no stressing about early morning transportation, etc). In any event, I think that after a long day in the park it'll be nice to have the bags waiting for us at the CR.

Say, "Thank you!"

Disney offers a courtesy of sending your luggage from resort-to-resort.

Have Bellhop take luggage before you leave for Rope Drop.

It will be at Contemporary no later than 4pm.
