Switching resorts and switching points

We have 2 contracts, same use year. If I want to switch resorts and change some of the originally used points, will I (or even MS) need to cancel and rebook? I’m trying to see if it’s worth it to call MS or if I should just cancel and rebook. There seems to be enough availability, even 6 mo out. But that also makes me nervous since so many glitches have happened lately. Any advice is appreciated!! Thanks!!!

Have you tried 'modify' for your reservation? Most times, we can change dates, resorts, and even points through modify. Might be worth a look before you queue up on the phone for a couple hours.

I didn’t see anywhere to change the points. I’ll keep looking, but I wasn’t sure that was an option?

When you modify the trip, and choose the new room, it should allow you change the order of the contract you used to the other one.

The online system won’t let you choose some from each so if that is what you want, you do need to call MS.

If you go to modify it and the contract you used is locked, then a call to MS is required.

Thank you! Yes, I need to use banked points from each contract. The problem is the first contract has too many points, so it isn’t pulling the banked points from the second contract. I appreciate the help!! If I call, MS can do that right?

Are both contracts checked? If they both have banked points, it should take them if you modify online, but don’t change a thing, and rebook.

There is a note at the end that makes it seem like it won’t, but it always does.

I ended up calling MS and they were super helpful. Wait time wasn’t bad either. This is great to know, so thank you. It is a little scary when it doesn’t say it will use the banked points first. I’ll have to try that next time if both contracts are checked.
