Switching hotel reservations to AP discount rates

I know I could call the hotel reservation line and ask them this, but with two small kids running around the house it is easier to ask on here . I want to secure reservation on site for the Star Wars Race weekend in January. Obviously I prefer to pay the AP discount rate if available, but they won't be posted until a few months out. If I make a regular price reservation now to secure something, can I later switch over to the AP discount, or to the GET Travel discount rooms without any cancellation/penalty charges?

You should be able to. I had a room at the grand californian reserved at rack rate (tears) and after I bought my AP, called and they applied the discount for me.
