Due to some budget contstraints, we had to cancel our Poly GV Concierge ressies. I am somewhat bummed about that, but at the same time, I am excited about getting to stay at the WL.

I have heard so many good things about the WL.

Any advice for a WL first-timer?

I just wanted to tell you to relax and not worry about it. We have stayed at both the Poly and the Wilderness Lodge, and the lodge is the one we fell in love with. We enjoyed it much more than the Poly. It has such an wonderful, cozy feeling that the Poly doesn't have. Also, my mouth still falls open every time I walk into that incredible lobby. The WL still has all the great recreation options - bikes, boats, a great pool, etc. We love renting bikes and riding the trail over to Fort Wilderness. Plus, the WL has two wonderful hottubs, which the Poly is sadly lacking! We also enjoy the restaurants at the Wilderness Lodge. Artist Point is definatley in our top five in all of Disney World. The only real plus we found to the Poly was being on the monorail line, but we really love taking the boat to the MK from the WL. It's such a neat way to start the day. My only advice for a lodge first-timer is to be sure and take time to relax and enjoy all the Wilderness Lodge has to offer! If you spend all your time rushing around the theme parks, you will have missed out! In fact, the first time we stayed there, we found ourselves constantly revising our touring plan to allow for more "down time" at the lodge! There are wonderful hidden nooks and easy-to-miss details. Take time to explore!

You will love WL. We stayed in October.

You may get upgraded to Concierge if they are not busy. Or you could ask if there is an upgrade available. I only say this because you said you were staying Conc. at the Poly. If you want, ask for the upsell-see below.

We had Conc booked for WL. When we checked in we told them that we did not want to be on the 7th fl so they put us in a courtyard room and gave us access to the Conc. floor and it was only about $30/nt extra. We saved a ton of money on food.

Anyway, sorrry you had to switch. Even if you don't get upgraded, you will love WL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You really do have to take time to explore the resort.
We went over to the Poly for lunch during our stay and were so glad we were staying at WL.

You won't be sorry:D

You will love the WL! We prefer it over the Poly! Except for the monorail service! The views are wonderful and we love the boat to MK. Any questions? We have stayed there alot!

Do not be sad........We have had the pleasure of spending time at Poly and using their conscierge service and it is very nice indeed. We have also stayed at Wilderness Lodge. Our choice is Wilderness Lodge. We were there in September for the second time and will be driving the 1100 miles to visit there again in a few weeks. We have been to Hawaii, Australia, France, Italy, Switzerland, Japan, England, yadda yadda.......Our choice for relaxation and the best feeling in the world is Wilderness Lodge. You will not be sorry........Take the advice given above and ask for the conscierge priviledges from your room if you feel youwant to be pampered on a budget. We have not done so but may try it this time as well. Wishing you all the best............;)

Thank you all. You are making me feel better.

We are going to be able to stay in a Courtyard View room. Any suggestions on location?

Don't stay on the top floor....you have to stand on your balcony to see everything...they are a little more solid without as much railing to see out of! Other than that...have a wonderful trip, you will love the resort!

We stayed in 2141-Courtyard View

Great room-overlooked pool, parade, geyser. I would move one floor up for an even better view-so my suggestion would be 2151 or something similar-just my opinion-you may be happier with something else.

You will love it.

Are you going with kids? Ask about being the flag family.

Have fun

Even if you don't have kids with you, you can still be the Flag Family. My husband and I did it last year and loved it. It was an awesome experience. No kids required.

Being the flag family sounds like lots of fun. How does one go about being the flag family. Do I need to ask when I check-in?

I meant to say we stayed in 2151 and 3151 would be a great room.

Just correctin my earlier post.

HI! When you stay at WL don't forget to come to visit me. I work at Roaring Fork Snacks located across the lobby and down the ramp. Also, when checking in...ask if Bellman Chris Taylor is working. He's a good friend of mine and he's a wealth of lodge knowledge! Tell him Melissa sent you!
