Switching from Atkins to SBD?

Anyone have experience in switching from Atkins to the SBD? I lost 30 pounds on Atkins, but I am having a lot of trouble sticking to it lately. I have been looking at the SBD book, and it looks like it might be a better choice for me. Any opinions?

Well, I think most of the programs work if you stick with them. Sometimes a change can help keep things interesting. I know Jody (Wovenwonder) has switched from Atkins to SBD and I'm sure there are others.

Basically, SBD allows more low-impact carbs like whole grains and fruit. Since you're getting more calories from carbs you have to drop something else, right? SBD encourages you to use margarine or I Can't Believe it's not Butter instead of real butter, low-fat cheese, leaner cuts of meat, so that you're getting less fat.

No first hand experience here, Jeanne. Just wanted to say that some times when you hit a stall the best thing you can do is change things up. I think it couldn't hurt to try something new and see if you can get things going again.

I choose SB over Atkins because I KNOW that I couldn't live without my pasta. SO far things are going well - it's only been 4 days. And I confess I had two bites of DS's mac cheese last night. However, when he didn't finish it, I quickly threw it in the trash. Normally I would have eaten it myself. I was afraid to put it in the fridge -too tempting.
