Switching DVC resorts if we are NOT members?

Hi!

We are renting points from someone who is a DVC member! They tried to get us the BCV but with no luck, so he is booking Old Key West! I was wondering if we call the DVC and are able to get the BCV , can we change our reservations to there, even though we are not DVC members?

Perhaps the best thing to do, is have the member waitlist for the BCV while keeping the OKW ressie. I admit that I don't know the rules when a member rents their points, but this seems like a logical step.

Since you are renting points, all changes must be made by the member. BCV will be more points than OKW, so you will have to rent more points.

You don't say when you are going. There are certainly some times of the year which will be more difficult than others. Keep in mind that BCV is new, so many members will be anxious to try it out right now. The advice given above is correct. If you want to change the ressie, the member will have to do that. I guess I would waitlist for BCV but keep the OKW ressie as a backup. We, obviously LOVE OKW!!
