We are switching from POP to POFQ midway in our stay.

I know Disney will move your luggage from one resort to another, but I wonder if someone will confirm that I've got this right.

On the morning of checkout at POP, do you just pack your luggage, ring up bell services and ask them to move your luggage to POFQ - do you need to label your luggage at all with the resort it's meant to be going to?

Then we planned to go to AK and get the bus over to POFQ. Is your luggage then in the luggage storage room or do they take it to your room in advance?

Thanks for all your help.

We'll be doing the same. Splitting our stay POP and POR. From what I've read on these boards I believe you must pack up your luggage and call for bell services to pick it up. Once it's transferred to new resort, it will be in storage. Once you check-in at new resort, you call bell services to have your luggage delivered to your room.

Bell services will take care of labeling your bag. They will also tell you about what time you can expect it to be at your new resort. The whole process is amazingly simple. Enjoy your stay at both resorts!

Didn't go so smoothly for us.

Called AS Movies folks who told us they couldn't do it. Called Disney Guest Services. Then, ASM said yes, they'd do it, but we'd have to bring the luggage to the lobby ourselves.

We had a car, and just moved it ourselves, because got tired of the battle.

It might go smoothly, but be prepared to make them do it.

I also have asked questions about this since we will be staying at AKL and then moving over to YC.
I was told by others on here that if we are driving a car to take it ourselves since it is much easier.
If we did not have a car to expect that it MAY not get there until into the evening so keep things out of the bags that we would need.
I have heard that WDW does a good job of moving your bags but that it can be slow.
We have a car so we will be doing this ourselves.

We just moved it ourselves also(from POR to WL). This was in 2000, and I don't know if a lot of people did it back then. Around that time on the boards, some people were having trouble with the resorts bringing their luggage in time for them to "change for dinner" and such. So I didn't want to take the chance.

But we didn't have a car. So we used a taxi. One of the easiest $10 I ever spent. ;)

I think the resorts are more used to it now. They are probably better at it.

We did it in April for the first time & I can't imagine it going any smoother. Bell services at CSR picked up our luggage & told us it should be at POFQ by 3:00. We took a last walk around the resort & then took a bus to Epcot & then to POFQ. We got there around 11:30 & they had a room ready (corner king, 3rd floor, building 6--everything we were hoping for). We went to MK to have lunch, did a little shopping & were back to the POFQ by 3:00. Our bags were at the resort & bell services brought them up shortly after we called. Based on our experience I think WDW did a great job with the transfer.

Thanks for your responses. AS we don't have access to a car, hopefully it will go smoothly!

WE are going over to POFQ on Halloween, 31st October and I'll have to remember to keep our outfits in a rucksack on our back during the day, just in case - thought I might put swimsuits in there as well, so we can go to the pool until our luggage turns up.

Tyler that worked at Pop said to call Luggage Assistance the night before for am pick-up.

We do ask that you give us a call the night before, to arrange a pick up time. If you call day of, we may not have any availability left. We require a minimum of one hours notice. That information was about checking-out so I would think it would apply to moving your luggage also.
