I thought I had read on one of the SWA promotional threads that you could switch any Chase card over and get the promotional miles. Does anyone know if that's true and how you would go about doing it?
Thanks....someone mentioned it here though and they will probably check in. I'd rather get their experience, or I would have called...plus, chase would be more interested in speaking to someone who is a customer and it's not for me.

I have no clue what BFF said/did but I know she got her run of mill Chase Visa switched to Disney one a few years back. I know she wa calling d/t her number being misused by someone known to her.
Some of the Chase cards are 'interchangeable' but the Disney card is not. I have tried, the answer was no. I still have my Disney card but applied for the SWA card today and was approved.
I didn't try what you're asking, but over the phone I was able to instantly transfer part of my credit limit from the Disney Visa, which was ridiculously high, to the SWA Visa so that I could use the SWA Visa for expensive purchases.
Just called about that this morning. Any run of the mill chase card CAN be transferred -- any "Partner" card, cannot. I wanted to move my amazon.com card to a Freedom. They said no, so I cancelled the amazon card and have to apply for the Freedom.

Really?? Ohh...this is good news. I have the Chase Disney and a Chase Freedom...so, I can move the Chase Freedom to an SWA? Do you happen to know if you still get bonus reward miles?
You can have both. They are separate entities run through the same bank. It's the same as if you had multiple checking acct. at one bank, you can have multiple credit cards with them too. They don't require you to keep everything on one card.
I have the Chase Disney, and I just applied for the Chase SW card to get the promotional rapid reward points. I was approved no problem. I use both.

I don't want another credit card though. I already have several. I would just like one that would suit my needs better and the SW Chase would suit my needs much better than the Chase Freedom.
I have all 3 - I've had the Disney card the longest, and got the Freedom card back in June (with a $300 bonus - SCORE), and recently got the SWA card withe the 50K points.
The thing to remember with the SWA card is that it an annual fee; the Freedom and Disney card do not...I personally get the most bang for my reward buck with the freedom card (since I never get bonus points offers from the Disney card anymore) but I do use all 3.
