My boyfriend and I have a trip coming up at the end of January. We were going to stay at POR (I should probably let you know that I LOVE POR and almost consider it part of the whole WDW experience). Switching to CSR is saving me more than $620 and money is tight so it was a no brainer for me. I'm definitely leery of staying there as I have heard how large it is. I know POR is large also but there are bridges acrossed the river and I don't think I've ever had more than a 7 minute walk from any room to the lobby/food court area. I have MS and my legs hurt often so I don't want to be stuck way out in no man's land at CSR. What is the best area to request and the one that I definitely want to stay away from? I would love to be close to the food court but as long as I am close to a bus stop I will be ok. Thanks!

I will be staying at CSR for the first time in April. Building 1 (a casitas building) would get you close to food and buses...but I am pretty sure that is a preferred building and not sure if your reservations would cover a preferred room. Note that 9b, the building on the other side of the main building is gone. Perhaps the CMs on the resort line could tell you what buildings are available based on your reservation type before you fine tune your room request. On the official Coronado Springs thread in this forum you will find a map (including the resort bus stops) and info from people more experienced than me....

$620 really is a no brainer, smart move. I stayed at CSR for my birthday last year. It is expansive to say the least. They initially put us in the far back right corner of the resort. It took us about ~12 minutes just to get to the room from check in. Nah uh. I called and explained that one of our party members had leg issues and they were kind enough to move us to building 1. Do bear in mind that there are 4 bus stops on the grounds. You obviously want to express your medical concern and ask to be near transit. At this case, go for building 1 so that you also are near cafeteria, shops, etc.

Have a great time.

No suggestions but we always enjoyed CSR when we stayed there. :earsboy:

Casitas 4 wa:thumbsup2s going to be my choice as well. Stayed there back in 2010... And we walked to main bldg. for morning coffee & snacks & then hopped on that bus and then off to the parks. When we returned we were the 1st to be dropped off & was a 5 minute walk ( if that ) It has a nice quiet pool, with the gym/ laundry area right there...The main bldg, is maybe a 6 minute walk. The feature pool was probably 10 minutes, but it is such a very relaxing & beautiful walk... You're going to enjoy it here..We love both POR & CSR.... * BTW, CSR has the best bus transportation out of any..Enjoy
