Switched resorts

I switched from POFQ to CBR because its saving me a little over 600 dollars. standard room. which building should I ask for to be close to the main building and arcade. hoping I'm not making a mistake

Any suggestions n where I should request to stay

Honestly i wouldn't have switched unless money was extremely tight. You are going from the smallest resort to to largest. No standard room will be close to the main building.

Jamaica is considered good, but i really regretted booking standard at CBR. It was the one time i felt led astray by the Dis.

It was a,savings of over 600 so significant money saved. we have stayed at pofq before so I know we are going from small to huge but also trying a new resort was an option also

You may want to take the extra step of using the Touring Plans room fax service. It lets you look at each individual room, pick one out, and they send a fax in for you. I had great luck using it last month. But please keep in mind any request is just that, a request. And you could in reality end up with a standard room anywhere at the resort. Just know that close at CBR is not the same as close at POFQ. If you are fine with a good bit of walking at the resort you should be ok.

Also, I'm not sure if will have a stroller along, but if you do, you will want to request a ground floor room. There are no elevators at CBR.

I really liked CBR. Agree with Jamaica - first stop on and off the bus and a short walk over the bridge to the pool and food court!

No stroller, just me and my 17 year old grandson, and we don't mind walking. I realize CBR is nothing like POFQ and I think that't part of my reasoning for switching, something new. and saving over $600 to spend on other things during our trip is a big plus. We will only use the resort for sleeping and showering and the pool (which I heard is amazingly better than pofq)

Also do I have to sing up for the touring plans membership in order to use the room fax request option?

Jamaica 45 or Aruba 51. We've been in Aruba twice. Very quick walks to the bus stops and OPR.

If I can give you any suggestion, upon coming back, get off at the firs you stop. Any walk is faster than the bus ride around the circle. Our stop was mid way and every time we walked it was faster!

We have stayed at both, I would definitely switch for that amount of savings. We stayed in Martinique 25 and we had standard, we were upgraded to water view, it was a really nice location. The resort is really nice, it is big but we had no trouble with this. It was my daughter and I. She was 16 so the location was just fine. I liked POFQ however not my favorite.

In this family's opinion you made an excellent choice! Ever since our first stay at CBR, we haven't been able to stay anywhere else. We were fans of POR and POFQ until staying at CBR. Now we choose CBR over them every time. And to save $$ too, that's just the icing on the cake.

The following locations are all 3-4 minutes from OPR and the Main Feature pool.

Aruba 51
Jamaica 45

Jamaica 44, 45, or 46, and Aruba 51. We love CBR. We had requested and were given a room in Aruba 51 last time, but the room wasn't ready when we arrived. They put us in Trinidad North 32, which I believe is a preferred location, but it was just as far as any of those Jamaica or Aruba rooms to OPR.

Jamaica and Aruba are right across the bridge from the main building with dining, pool, and arcade. We were in Jamaica 46 and it took us no more than 5-6 minutes to get to the food court. And it's a lovely peaceful walk.

CBR is one of our favorites and we prefer it to POFQ. For that amount of savings I think you made an awesome choice.

I agree!! I actually just changed a reservation I had from AKL to CBR!! When it all boils down, CBR is my Disney home - and the chance to stay there, plus the price difference...I can't beat it!
