Switch Health COVID-19 RT-LAMP Test Kit For Canada Return

Hello, we used them last week for our return into Canada. We did them roughly 66 hours before our flight online with a switch health rep. We are a family of 4 and the entire process of testing took about 40 mins. We then waited about 1 hour and 15 mins for all 4 of our results to come in. We then had to take a photo of the test and upload it to our account. That instantly produced our letters for the airline/border.
The entire process took about 2 and 15 mins from start to finish. Very very easy, no stress and we were able to do it from our hotel room while we got ready for dinner.

I was given re-entry tests at the border for my two littles from switch and it’s been a nightmare. I would not recommend switch to anyone after my experiences, which is still ongoing .

I used the RT-LAMP test returning from Las Vegas at the end of November. Worked great except for the inconsistent hotel wifi. I would use it again.

Sorry, to hear that. We were given Switch for the kids when returning this summer from Orlando. We had no problems other than it took a while for the nurse to log in.

Gonna ask a very silly question...Is this test done kind of like a pregnancy test in the sense that the positive or negative is read on the spot (but with a nurse to guide you through and confirm your test and id, etc)? i.e. they don't collect the test and then process it

Yes. The results show on the strip within 10-15 minutes.

Scroll down the page on the link above. This is the test to return to Canada, I believe. Does anyone know if nurses are available 24/7?

I remember someone saying they called and were told they did have nurses available 24/7. Makes sense since it’s for travelling and you could be in a different time zone.

If you have an aeroplan account you can get them for $150 cdn

What is the shipping time to receive these? Does anyone know from recent experience?

We’ve used them and were very pleased with the experience and speed of the results. You do need good wi-fi. One person in your group makes an account and then adds others in party as dependents so that you can all do the test in the same session. You join a virtual queue to connect with the nurse and once connected she walks each person separately through the test. The machine runs for about 30 minutes before giving the result. You photograph that and upload it to your account and Switch sends the formal results certificate via email almost instantaneously. I have seen reports of some kits not working so it’s worth having a back up plan just in case. Also don’t put the batteries in the kit until directed to do so by the nurse. We carried the kits in our carry on luggage with no issues. Delivery took a couple of days from ordering. It’s worth joining their waitlist if the kits are sold out when you go to buy them. I did that the other week and received an email the next day saying that they were back in stock.

Also if you’re not currently an Aeroplan member, join that first as I’ve always been asked for my Aeroplan number as part of the ordering process.
