Switch from Pop to POFQ...should bus service be a factor?

Would you let the bus service deter you from switching from Pop Century to Port Orleans French Quarter? I am thinking about upgrading my June reservation. We stayed at Pop last time we went and having one bus stop for just the one resort was great. We'll be onsite for seven of our ten day stay. I'm thinking go for it! This would be a first for us. We've stayed in each category once. I would like to try something new, but I don't want to have any regrets either.

I never let bus service or bad bus service stories affect any decisions I make.

I personally think the buses are all decent at WDW. If anything the buses from the EPCOT resorts to AKL and MK which stop at five resorts may be the worst on site. And that would never stop me from staying at them!

I think the bus at POFQ is more than adequate, and you'll enjoy your time at the resort that much more.

Instead of worrying that it might take 5 extra minutesd to get to the parks, remember that you will have that awesome boat ride to DTD!

We had excellent bus service last August at POFQ. On our 12 day trip, we barely shared with POR and we never waited more then 10 minutes for a bus. I don't think you will regret POFQ! Now on the other hand, we are switching to Pop for our next trip. Hope we don't regret that!

No I wouldn't. We've never had a problem with the buses at POFQ, and think the resort is a heck of a step up from Pop.

We have always stayed at POFQ and feel the bus service has gotten better since our 1st stay. We only seemed to share with POR on the last several trips during off peak hours.
Plus the boat to DTD is a great change. We usually eat dinner there if we have no ADRs. Plus you can also go over to POR and use their pools too

I've stayed at both resorts recently and found the bus service to be comparable at both in terms of frequency. POFQ only has one stop as well. We went in September and found that we never shared with Riverside at all.

I wouldn't worry about transportation. We have stayed at both Pop and POFQ and far prefer POFQ for many reasons. We had excellent bus service during our stay there (it was during June also, so busy summer season). We never shared with POR. There was only the one stop at POFQ. In fact, our bus transportation wasn't even comparable to POP--much better experience at POFQ. Our experience at POFQ compared to POP was there weren't as many people waiting in line (not even a handful of the people that were in line at POP), more frequent buses, and much shorter wait time waiting for a bus. We really enjoyed our stay at this resort; I'd make the switch in a heartbeat!

I was at POFQ from 2/7-2/13 and had good luck with the bus service. There is one stop, although as others have said, you will sometimes share with POR. For me, that was only at odd times during the day, and POFQ was always the first pickup and first drop-off. POFQ is pretty centrally located, so it never seemed to take too long to get to any of the parks. IF you are going to DTD at all, the boat is a big plus. Disclaimer: I'm happy to have Disney do the driving, and am never too fussed about waiting a few minutes for a bus.

I've never stayed at Pop, but this was my first trip to POFQ (after going deluxe on previous trips) and I really fell in love with it - it is very pretty and charming, compact and easy to get around, the rooms have queen beds now, I was very pleased with everything.

Oh, an addition about my bus experience at POFQ: One morning I was going to MK first thing, and I was taking the "back way" past Bldg 4 to the bus stop - I could see the MK bus pulling up, there weren't many people getting on, I don't move all that fast, so the bus picked up and left before I got to the bus stop! Oh no! Well, it couldn't have been more than 5 minutes later that another MK bus came and I caught that one. On my departure day, waiting for the ME bus to the airport at 7:30, I saw multiple buses for all parks come by in short order - boy, I wanted to ditch the ME and just hop on the next park bus I saw!

No. Stay where you want to stay. In our experience, bus service is variable at all the resorts and seems to be mostly luck.

We stayed at POFQ during the busiest week of the year...the week between Xmas and New Years. The one and only bus stop at the resort is covered with benches to wait on. We never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus.

Loved FQ. Would choose it over POP in a heartbeat. Went to POP once over Spring Break and the lines for the buses were ungodly. Perhaps we were just lucky, but great bus service is just one of the many reasons I would choose FQ.

Disney bus service is at its best during busy times. If you are going in June you shouldn't have a problem. Have a great time, POFQ is a fantastic resort! Even when the parks are packed with summer crowds, POFQ is still a quiet oasis.

Out of all the resorts POFQ is one of our favorites. We've never had issues with bus service. The boat service to Downtown Disney is also a plus!
