Switch from CBR to AKL

We are going next week for 5 days and are currently booked to stay at CBR. We've never stayed there and were excited and then found out the bridge was closed to construction and that we may be getting lots of rain from Erika. That being said AKL right now is only $204 more to stay at. We've stayed at AKL before and liked it, we just wanted to try something new. I'm afraid with the storm we may be spending more time at the resort and might want to stay at a nicer one. Should I make the switch???

A question I would also ask is, where do all the animals hang out if it is really rainy/tropical storm? Does AKL herd them into a safe place to wait it out, are they still out in the savanna but the animals hang out somewhere where they are hard to spot? Or; are they still spread out across the savanna for everyone to see? We stayed at AKL and love it. If the additional cost is not a problem I would stay there again in a heart beat.

If its only a $204.00 difference and it's in your budget I would say totally go for it! There's a ton of exploring you can do inside the AKL that you will definitely end up loosing track of time. As lovely as CBR is, everything is outside (other then your room or the food court).

I would definitely switch if it looks like you have to spend more time at the resort--everything you need is within covered walk, unlike CBR. I haven't stayed at AKL, but will this coming December--can't wait! Have a great time next week and stay dry--hope Erika doesn't mess up your vacation. You should definitely let us know what happens; I, for one, would be very interested to know how Disney handles these types of occurrences.

Well we debated and the new storm path looks like it is going towards the gulf now. We're going to stay at CBR and see what happens. I'll keep everyone updated
