Swing Set Review

I am looking into buying my DD6 a swing set for our backyard.

Walmart has some really good prices on theirs but I'm concerned about the quality. I don't need something that is going to last for 20 years but I don't want it to fall apart in a month either. Even with the good price this would still be $400 and I don't want to waste my money.

I looked online for some product reviews and I was unable to find any. Just some reviews for Walmart.com in general. Has anyone bought this swingset (or one like it)? How do/did you like it?

We bought our kit from Menards. I would recommend going that way, the wood will be thicker and longer lasting if you do it your way instead of the walmart version. It was by playstar, it is the champion model. We did the bronze option for around $475. She loved it and is on it daily. Then in the fall when they were clearencing out the playstar items we bought some extras and added them on. She got another steering wheel, a diff swing, the climber instead of the steps, etc.

We have been very happy with the quality and durability of it. It took Dh a weekend to put up, obviously more people helping would be less time.

That is sooo funny...we are doing the same thing right now and was looking at this one at WalMart too! There was one at ToysrUS in the Sunday Paper, but our store doesn't have anymore of them. ???

I was wondering the same thing. I hope that we get some feedback to see if it is worth it,that is quite a bit of $ to have it fall apart by next summer.

From the picture, it looks like the support beams are 2x4s. You don't want that. You want at least a 4x4. I'm talking about the red vertical boards under the clubhouse. Otherwise it's very similar to the one we got from Home Depot. It's decent. Not a rainbow, obviously. But we also didn't pay thousands for it.
