I am looking for not-too-expensive swimwear for a family member who had a double mastectomy and opted not for reconstruction.

I have found several suits online, but we are not interested in the traditional one-piece with padding.

I would like to find a swim dress with sleeves that has a higher neckline (I am only finding tanks). Maybe a swim shirt and a skirted bottom? She has a belly, so she wanted something that is a little less tight than the swim shirts that I am finding... She would need a misse

She just wants to get in the pool with her grandson, not train for the Olympics or anything :)

I don't know if you've ran across this line or not, but the It Figures! line has alot of selections for breast cancer survivors. I have seen them on QVC and you could check early spring for easy pay options, etc. I don't know if you consider this "cheap" or not, but most suits are $80-100. I don't think that's cheap but for a specialty suit you might not get any cheaper than that. You could google their name and come up with their website with even more selections. You might find some clearance styles on QVC right now as well. Not sure.

Congratulate her on surviving breast cancer! I have a cancer survivor in my family and I know what a scary ordeal it really is. So thankful you have to look for a suit for her to swim with her precious grandson!! YAY!!!

Thanks for the info! I will look it up. Yes- I do not think that $80-100 is "cheap," but for a specialty item like this, it is expected. As well, it is $80 that I am happy to spend as we are very thankful for her continued health. It will be five years ago next week that she had her surgery.

Lands' End also sells mastectomy suits, and you can buy the tankini-type top and a skirted bottom. They can be pricey, but a lot of times the overstocks section has stuff.

Where I go for my Mammograms they have a special store with bras and suits and other things for BC survivors. My Mom has gotten many helpful things there. Maybe they have that where you live also?

I was also going to suggest a local specialty store. My mom buys her bras from a local store in Lexington, KY. They do cost more, but they are hard to find in just any store. She did say she had ordered some of her bras through the JCPenney catalog, so you may check to see if they have the swimsuits also.
