Swimsuit Shopping

Okay, here is my dilemna, I tried on the old bathingsuit from last year and although it is still wearable, it could stand to be a little smaller. I am heading home to the US in two weeks and want a new bathingsuit, do I wait until I get home (are there still lots of suits left for sale?) or should I order something online? If online shopping is the way to go, where do you suggest I look?

I have only ordered a bathing suit online once. I got it from Lands End and I loved it! It lasted longer than most suits I have worn in the past, and I was really happy with the coverage it provided (I needed mucho bum coverage!) I highly recommend them!!!

I think you would be ok finding a suit back home too. I don't know if there are just more suits here in FL than in the north, but my mom got a suit 2 weeks ago and it was on sale, but there were still quite a few in the store she got hers from.

Good luck! Aren't you happy about buying a smaller suit!!!! Yipee!!!!!

There are still lots of suits in the stores around here (Texas), but I second Karen's endorsement of Lands' End swimsuits!

They have a large assortment, and offer varying degrees of coverage. I have several of their suits, and the quality just can't be beat.

(Plus they offer lots of "long torso" sizes, so I don't have that old, annoying problem of "swimsuit creep"!)

Okay, I will third the Land's End bathsuits!! They are great! I have one myself and I love the way it fits, although it is too loose in the front on me now! Time to shop for one too! LOL

Sears carries Lands End now - so I was going to go there & try some on. I have a few - one is too small (from years ago - all stretched out too!) One is way too big and one is OK - but might show more cleavage than I like! So I just might go face the music and try a few on!

Lands' End has a swimsuit guide so that they can help you fit a swimsuit. I just got two, sent one back because it ran small. I got the Faille Tankini last year and loved it. Got a new one in a smaller size this year.

I was playing around with LandsEnd.com today. Does anyone know if Sears actually carries these same suits? I made a body model but it is incompatible with the clothing. WAH!! That wasn't a very nice way to word it! I told you guys I am too short for my weight! Anyway... I took off 20 pounds and ta-dah, there was my body. I "tried on" Faille Tankini and really liked it! Anyone here have experience with the women sized suits from Lands End?

Terry - my sister gets her swimsuits from Lands End. She wears a women's size and has always been happy with the styles they offer.

OK you want to laugh now? I put on my bathing suit the other day when I went to the local waterpark with my kids, and I kept loosing it, LOL. Thankfully I have another one that is one size smaller and I will wear that one from now on, but it felt weird how the other one fit last year, and it's too big this year, I'm a happy camper though!
I'm still stuck on my 193 lbs, but with my height , the recommended weight is 175-180 lbs , so I'm not that far off from that, only if I could loose that belly!
Debbi, there are plenty of stores here with swimwear , the only thing is , I don't know if they would have your size , so I don't want to say buy it here when you get here.

I really don't have any advice for you but I was thinking that you might lose more weight before you head home, you may get too small for anything you buy right now. On the other hand, you might not.

I'm not emotionally prepared to even try on a bathing suit yet

I got two suits back in May for my anniversary trip from newport news. Great values and excellent fitting suits. I bought a blue tankini and a two piece sequin white thingy>LOL They both looked great and did'nt break the bank. I was thinking by labor day i hope to get a suit outta the victoria secret catalogue! Those suits look so good and i hope i can pull one off by then. They sell them in my size so they must look okay on a gal my size.LOL Maybe i'll be 10 before i have to make that purchase.

I picked up a Lands' End suit at Sears yesterday. (See what y'all made me do! It was just because of this thread!)

Yes, they do have a number of the Lands' End suits, the same ones you find in the catalogs and online. I bought one- the Tropical Print Tankini and Swim Mini, in Royal. It's this one:

except in blue.

They had a number of tankinis, including the faille pieces and the sport tankinis with shorts. Also some Tugless Tanks. The prices were the same as online.

That tankini looks really cute!! I don't suppose you would try it on, snap a photo and post it? Hmmm? Okay - try and snap one pool or beach side then! You are going to look MAHvelous!
