Our next visit we will be traveling with family and probably staying at two different Disney resorts. Wondering if we could swim in each others hotel pools?

I would say prob. not; but who am I to know anything? :rotfl2: I'm sure someone out here will give you an honest answer.

There have been significant problems with over-crowding at some of the premier resort hotel pools at WDW, so use of hotel pools is now limited to guests of the specific hotel or complex, only. It is, however, only enforced at the more deluxe, popular or crowded pools. You didn't mention which two resorts you're staying at. If one of your two families are staying at, for example, an All-Star Resort, there is probably no problem with you all swimming together there. I've never read any reports of them checking resort IDs there, though I'd personally ask permission to do so. On the other hand, if one of your families is staying at the Beach Club Resort, then you'll almost surely NOT be able to swim together at Storm-a-Long Bay. Resort ID is checked quite closely and the restrictions on hotel pool use are enforced quite consistently there.

We just returned, our family was staying at AKL, and sisters family elsewhere.

I asked at the front desk if they could swim after we all finished at Boma's , they told us no problem, thanks for asking.

The pool wasn't crowded, but as it turns out , no one wanted to swim as the water was just so stinking hot.

As long as it isn't beach club, you will probably be ok. Be sure to ask, and make it a one day thing. Don't be surprised if you ask, and are told no.

We didn't say anything to the kids about swimming together, till we cleared it with the desk.

I've read multiple reports of restrictions in place at the Beach Club and Yacht Club, but also at the BoardWalk and the Polynesian. I seem to remember an individual report of the restriction being applied at one of the moderates, but just that one report.
