On our next trip we are considering swimming with dolphins at Sea World & are wondering if it is worth the expense- $700-?As we already have 5 park flex tickets, the 7 days unlimited admission to Sea World is no use so it just all hinges on the one day!

I’m not sure why but when I priced Discovery Cove for our October vacation I got price without Sea World admittance. If we wanted the Sea World admittance which was good for 7 consecutive days it was extra $30 per person. This is a deal for us since we wore planning on visiting Sea World anyway and the gate price is around $50 per person, but it doesn’t sound like it would be beneficial for you. Maybe you should contact DC and inquire how much dolphin swim alone without the SW.

Is this for Discovery Cove?

If so....I haven't done this (yet), but I have had friends who did this (couple with a 5yr old) who said it was definately worth the expense.

I know you need a reservation for DC - only a set nbr of people are allowed in per day - includes lunch too.

As a family (DS 9, DD 7) we went to DC to swim w/the dolphins 3 years ago. We go to Orlando every year, but knew this would not be a yearly experience for us... so we decided to spend the $$ and I'm glad we did. At that time there was only one ticket price which also included the Sea World ticket. Since Sea World is one of our favorite partks, it was well worth it to us. If you do decide to go, just plan on arriving early; at least 30 minutes before they open. We spent a good 45 mins just waiting to check in and then more time in line after that waiting for wet suits.

The kids still bring their pictures to school every year at show and tell time (they each have a great photo kissing our group's dolphin). If you can splurge on this trip, I would say go for it.

Our family of 4 did the Dolphin Experience at DC last year and loved it. As said above-get there early, because you have to get wet suites, etc., and takes time. Your actual time with the dolphin is short, but sweet, and a great memory. We are going again this year to DC, but without the Dolphin Experience. Even without the DE, it makes a nice day to snorkel in safe waters with beautiful creatures. I believe the tickets are set with 7 day SW and you can upgrade to 14 day SW for additional cost. I don't believe they'll actually discount the amount if you don't need the ticket. Have fun - it's a chance to get away from the crowds.

I recently checked out the DC website and it state 7 day admission to Sea World or Busch Gardens was included but for $30 extra you could get both parks for 14 days.

What is the rate for DC now? When I looked at the DC website I couldn't find a rate.

Here are the rates I found at the website:
