Two weeks from today my family & I will be staying at a rental home close to the parks (don't really need to say which one). As far as I know, we elected NOT to have the swimming pool heater turned on whilst we are staying (the pool in the backyard).

Could someone in the know let me know what it's like down there right now (as far as the temp vs. pool temp). Just wondering if we SHOULD go ahead and have the pool heat turned on.

THANKS!

I would! Especially if you want to swim in the evening...unless you like cold water! If you have a cloudy day or depending on how the sun hits the pool...water temp can be on the cool side. The water temp of a pool drops fairly quickly in the evening as well.

I would have the pool heat turned on! We were there last year and the daytime temps were 90-95 degrees. The pool heater was malfunctioning, and when we got home in the evening, the water was freezing! Luckily it was fixed in a couple of days, big difference. We swam every night!

We had our pool heat on last week. We just had guests who elected not to have the heat on in one of our townhomes call and request that it be turned on, it has been getting fairly cold at night, and lots of pool heat escapes at night when it dips down to 50 degrees.

We like our pool a nice comfortable 80 degrees!

Of course, the week before, someone called me and said it was too warm for their liking and could we please turn it off! LOL

I don't like to feel cold when swimming. Plus when we go, we have young kids that would get cold really quickly if we didn't have pool heat. I would recommend having it on - it does make all the difference.

If you have a pool & spa you will likely want the heat for the spa - we always choose pool heat!
