Swimming mid-January?

Hi all. Is it possible to swim mid-January at any of the Disney resorts? Are the pools heated to comfortably swim? Thank you!

The weather is so variable. January 2006 Marathon weekend the temps dipped below freezing at night. 50s during the day. January 2005 was a lot warmer. I think in the 70s during the day so swimming was okay in the pools because they are heated.

The last time we were at WDW in January, the first part of the week was hot, mid-80s, and we did swim. Then at the end of the week it got cold - in the 50s, and we had to wear down vests and mittens! So it varies quite a bit, even within the course of one week.

We were there Jan 11-22, 2006, and all but one day was in the high 70's - low 80's during the day. But...I've been other times in January where we never got out of our winter jackets (and we're native NH-ites). It all depends on good ol' mother nature.

I'm from NY and by January it's cold here. I took my niece January 27 - 30, 2006 and they were having a heatwave. The weather was in the high 80's during the day, very sunny, very hot and very humid. Although we brought suits with us we never went into the pool just because I was doing the solo thing with her and had enough on my plate with a 4 yr old and didn't want to add the stress of swimming to the list. LOL But if I had another adult with us we definitely would have hit the pool!!

Yea you can swim. They are heated! I think

We were there this year beginning January 9th for five days and people were in the pool everyday. We had beautiful weather - in the 70's. We aren't really pool people, but we could have gone in if we wanted to. The weather cooled off the day we went home. January can be iffy, but we are going again next year at the same time. We love the weather and the low crowds at that time of the year.
