Swimming in November in the Morning?

Hi all,

I'm from the Midwest, so I don't really consider any time at Disney to be particularly cold. We went in January once and we did wear sweatshirts part of the time and a couple of times I put hats on my kids at night when it was really late or windy. They did go swimming, but were a little chilly.

That said, we are definitely planning on swimming in November. However, I put swimming into some of our morning plans, and I'm a little worried that it won't be warm enough to enjoy until the afternoon.

Thoughts/opinions appreciated, especially by those who may have the same ideas about what is/isn't too cold (Midwesterners, Northerners, etc.)...lol

Thanks!

I was at WDW dec 2014 and the temp said 80, it did get chillier when the sun went down but in no way was it not swimming weather in the day.

If you're thinking about swimming laps or something like that then sure, if you're looking to enjoy time in the pool and the sun then a little less so I'd say. The pools are kept at a consistent 82 degrees, but the temperature outside will be much colder so I wouldn't plan on a full morning at the pool.

On our last trip, first week in November, mornings were chilly, but it was warm enough to swim n the afternoon. We started our days wearing jackets.

I think you will be pretty much ok. We have had plenty of no swim days in December and January-February, but November is still nice. As other have said, water will be warm and it is just air temps on getting out. Florida days warm up quickly with the Sun and unless you are talking 6am, it should be good. Now.....we are huge morning park people. Its the best time to avoid crowds and hot times in the park. A plan that does park time in the am, and pool in the pm might be a better choice for a lot of different reasons.

The Disney Resort pools are heated. I've gone swimming in the winter and I'm from Florida and don't like swimming in cold water.

Last year we went the first week of November. The mornings were warm, but it got a bit chilly for swimming in the evenings.

Three days before Christmas 2014 we were in the pool at Kidani.......We are planning to swim some in November this year. It may be chilly when you get out, depending on the ambient temps, but it was not an issue the morning we went.

We went the first week of December once. Let me just say, Disney's definition of heated and my definition of heated are miles apart. I got in with my daughter for a few minutes and was so cold I couldn't stop shaking and felt nauseated. It was probably 75 degrees outside at the time.

'Every' year can be different so it's very hard to give a firm answer. Some years it doesn't get very cold at all and other years it's freezing. We went the end of Nov. into Dec. of 2010, and trust me, no matter where you are from, it was cold, cold, cold!! 28* at night - 40's with wind during the middle of the day, with flowers either dead, or all wrapped up. Is this the normal?? No, of course not! But, you can never plan in advance what it will be - just be prepared for hot/cold - sometimes both!! By the way, I'm a deep south girl and I know how it can be. :)

It's so hard to say because weather has been so crazy this year, but we went to Disney the week before Christmas one year and we did a bit of swimming. I think it was usually in the evenings though. We're from Canada, so as long as the waters not frozen, it's fair game! I would personally work some swim time in, and if it's too cold I'm sure you'll be able to find something else to do.
