DH and I aren't really interested in getting off to do excursions in Nassau, but we thought if the weather is nice (going in April) we would go for a swim and then back to the ship. We figure since it's only a 3 day cruise we would spend as much time on the ship as possible. Thanks!!

We didn't do the beach thing, but I have heard people mention Cable Beach and Atlantis Beach.

So here's a little "bump" to the top of the boards so someone else can help you.

We did the public beach and was pretty disappointed. It was a long walk, then you had to climb down a wall of rocks to get to the beach. Once there, the beach was beautiful, but had a quick drop off when you got in and it was pretty wavy. Without young kids it would probably be fine, but our kids were pretty miserable once we got there (and so were we!).

Hi!

Last December we felt the same way, so we went to Cable Beach. If you search the boards and the trip reports, there are lots of positive comments about going there.

You can take a short walk to the bus stop and hop the bus to the Wyndham at Cable Beach for $1 per person. We brought lunch ordered from room service (subs and pbjs) and bottled soda/water we had brought on board. The beach at the Wyndham was BEAUTIFUL, and we used the pool as well. There is a casino if you're interested.

It was great because we left the ship when we wanted, and returned when we wanted. It was very cheap, and a relaxing, peaceful afternoon of the kids playing in the water and building sand castles. Minimal annoyance from people hawking cheap jewelry/hair braiding.

HTH!

We just got back from the 4 night Wonder. I booked a room at the Comfort Suites across from Atlantis. This gave us full access to the Atlantis facilities. The kids had a great time in the pools and beaches.

It was a bit pricey, but well worth it IMHO . . .
