My DD 12 is a competitive swimmer and I've noticed how hunched over she seems. Her back muscles are more developed than the front.

I am beginning to sound like my mother telling her to put her shoulders back!

Someone suggested push ups or weight lifting. Any suggestions?

That is really common in swimmers and can lead to shoulder problems. Ask her coach for advice on how build up the opposing muscles. Some of my swimmers have used physical therapy bands under the guidance of a physical therapist.

Chiropractor. My DD has been having muscle problems and she was starting to hunch over due to the bookbags, etc. She is 15. Since she has been going to the Chiropractor, the pain in the knees, etc. has pretty much diminished unless she is walking great distances, like an amusement park, then she will wear her leg brace. I took her to the emergency care center for a sore throat Mothers Day and the dr. told me she has a very mild case of Scoliosis. Well the Chiropractor agrees and will be keeping an eye on it. She goes now once a month and feels much better after her adjustment. Good luck but I would have her checked to be on the safe side and put an end to the curve in the back.

Last year at her physical, the doctor said it was just a bad habit. I'm going to pursue it. Thanks!
