ANy other place besides dc can we pet or swim w/the dolphins. We are also going to St Pete Beach...anything in that area? THanks

Unfortunately, wild dolphins are rather dangerous to swim with. So unless there is a place with trained dolphins, don't attempt it.

In St. Pete's you will probably see porpoise and bottle nose dolphin swimming near the shore.

we're heading to discovery cove to swim w/the dolphins... it's pricey, but dd is really looking forward to it... it was her only vacation request!

When I went to Sea World in San Diego, they ahd the dolphin tank where you could feed them (buy frozen fish to give them). I was able to touch them. I thought they felt like wet rubber tires! :rotfl2:

We swam with the dolphins in Key Largo last year at a place called Dolphins Plus. It was wonderful! There is nothing really in the Orlando area. However, Key Largo is quite a drive from Orlando, but we did half Disney and half southern Fla.

Check with Sea World...

I believe they have a "behind the scenes" encounter that takes you around the entire park-the penguins, the dolphins, the killer whales and the arctic experience I believe are all included.
