Just saw this suggestion on another thread. Why do you need swim shoes for CC? It looks very sandy, is it rocky or full of shells?
And I thought I had everything packed....lol

If I remember correctly, its a bit rocking in places. We've never brough water shoes though. It's not too bad.

My kids don't like to wear water shoes. They were fine w/o them at CC. They wore their sandles and slipped them off as soom as we settled on the beach!!

The pathways are a dark colored hard paving and can get hot. So you should wear some sort of shoes. Our kids wore water shoes, but we just wore our tevas. The kids then took off the water shoes before going in the water since they don't like the feel of them when they're wet!

We also just had sandals for the kids and ourselves. We packed their water shoes, but didn't use them and everyone went barefoot in the water. The sand does have shells in it, but they've been worn smooth.

If you go to the adult beach, you may want water shoes as the coral is a bit sharp in places.

Just my opinion. :)

The adult beach is very rough...right through the middle...you definately need swim shoes there.

Thanks for the responses :-)

Swim shoes were one of the best things I invested in, and I really only wore them at CC. It meant not having to bring another pair of shoes and provided nice protection in the water, too.

I actually wore swim shoes at the adult beach and was glad I did. As the tide went out a bit and some people got their tubes stuck on the coral, I could walk right out there and pull them in. The family beach was nice and sandy though.

I brought my water shoes to CC. I said to my DH, that the water looks so clear and the sand so soft, I don't think I'll need these on. Well, that was the biggest mistake!!! At the adult beach, while stepping down onto the sand while waist deep in the water, I had extreme pain in my foot. I had stepped on a sea urchin and had a dozen spikes in my foot!!! It really hurt. We tried to pull them out but they broke right off in my foot. We went all the way to the first aid station back on the family beach side, and the Dr. said, Oh yeah, sea urchin. When you get back to the ship, soak your foot in the whirlpool. They will eventually disolve. Well, I'll tell you, I felt tender in that area for almost a year!! BRING THE WATER SHOES AND WEAR THEM. I'm sorry I didn't. ::yes::
