Swim Diapers-reusable?

I just thought I would add my 2 cents in here. I have used the swim diapers over again a few times on DS. He is out of diapers now but I still have some of the kids pullups for when they are sick. Don't have to worry about accidents on top of everything else. They come in pretty big sizes and my soon to be 5yo is only 33lbs so I will keep them around a while.

i cant believe im about to admit this.. LOL
my mom decided to take all the grandkids camping in virginia beach..
all the kids were in the pool.. my poor little nephew was only 3 and for the most part was potty trained.. noone thought anything..
they all go to the pool. everyones having a good time..
my niece who is 9 at the time..comes to my mom and says mee mee(thats that they call her)
william pooped in the pool.
im here to tell you. duece duece.. LOL doenst float like it did in the movie caddy shack LOL
my mom tried her hardest to get all the kids out of the pool unnoticed.. but my big mouth niece screaming ewww mee mee i stepped in it. want me to get the life guard?? lol
my dad comes walking into the pool area.. unaware of the whole thing.. LOL my mom is pushig him out.
they cllosed the pool for hours!!
that poor kid will never live this down..
so im a big fan of swim diapers..
i would do disposiable ones though.

How about coming home one day - and finding that my Mom put my twins in swim diapers... in the house!! I said "you know, they're not meant to hold any pee" and she shrugs and says "that's all I could find" Lesson learned, be sure there are regular diapers available and the swim ones are hidden!!

I have always used the disposables... like others have said... you can use them again as long as they aren't soiled with #2... I do toss them if #1 is really obvious. I had never heard of throwing them in the washer or doing a good rinsing of them...something to consider!

At our house in our pool, the disposable is all DS2 wears.. when we go elsewhere I usually just put a swimsuit over the disposable. I watch him like a hawk for any signs of #2 happening.. then drag him off for a change before he can get back into the water.. so far - so good!!
