a couple of years ago my mom bought DS a great terry cloth zippered hoodie that was a great cover-up for when he got out of the pool... he has since outgrown that one and i cannot find anything similar anywhere! it's all rash guards, which are great but not what i am looking for...

i think the one he had was osh kosh, but i didn't see anything like it when i was at the outlet last week...

anyone have any suggestions on where i might find one? (that isn't like $50 - i did find one on a website for that price, which seems a little much to me)

thanks! :goodvibes

Try Lands End, that is where I usually get my children's swimsuit cover ups.

Walmart had them in the toddler girls section last week -- you might have to cover up the flower decals, though.

Could you just get him a terry robe? Another good choice is a towel poncho -- just buy a thick towel and cut a hole in it, then bind the hole so it doesn't ravel. You might also consider just buying him a cotton hoodie jacket meant for an older boy, and cut off the sleeves part-way; that way it would be longer.

Most boys really don't like wearing "cover up" robes -- they just want to drip dry or wrap up in a towel. They sometimes get teased for wearing a robe "like a girl." This infamous little number kind of killed the market for terry coverups for the male of the species ;):

I had the EXACT same problem when DS outgrew his toddler cover-up.

I looked & searched, but could find cover-ups only for girls.:headache:

I finally gave up & he just wears rash guards now. They dry quickly.

thanks everyone!

i know most boys don't want to wear one (in fact DH has asked me not to call it a cover-up in reference to DS :) ), but he's only 4 and doesn't seem to mind about that kind of thing yet...

i guess i could just get a rash guard, but he always gets so cold when he gets out of the water, i wanted something dry he could put on... the one he had was essentially just a sweatshirt made of terry cloth, not long at all...

oh well, i guess i'll just stick with a towel and a t-shirt...

thanks again for all the suggestions! :thumbsup2

I don't know how handy you are, or if you sew at all, but they have hooded bath towels on clearance at Target for $3.98. You could easily cut 2 holes for arms. They are just plain white with bubble decor on the head. There are even a few mickey heads that are unintentional. Just in case you are really stuck for something quick.

We just bought our DD's new suits for Disney at Sears. They were on sale for $16.99 and it came with a suit (one or two piece) and a hooded cover up! I thought it was a good deal for both. HTH :)

I got a terry sweatshirt for DS at Carters. It was in the bathing suit section so I guess it's meant as a cover up. I don't know if it comes in bigger sizes though.

That is what I was going to post... I think it went to size 7 at our store.
