Sweetie buffet

Hi everyone!!!

I had been looking a thread on the regular community board about American Candy Buffets and think this is such a great idea!

Soo... Its my boyfriends 30th in 3 weeks and im wondering.... "can I do this?"


Long story short, this was just going to be "dinner and night out" but it has now turned into a "hire a hall, hire a dj, full blown party- the works!" due to annoying family members (looonnnggg story!)

Have any UK peeps done a sweetie buffet? How much did you spend?

I was looking on ebay (to make things more complicated, the party is in his hometown on liverpool and we now live in northern ireland so we cant buy the stuff here and bring it on the plane as it will be too heavy- online ordering to his mums house or buying the stuff over there are our options) at sweets and the prices dont look too bad. Also jars arent too costly from places like Wilkensons and Tesco.

The party will be for about 60 guests.

I have never heard of this, I just had to google it, and it sounds like lots of fun. I hope you'll post some photos of the evening as I'd love to see some (or anyone else's if they've done this before)

I would strongly suggest the MoneySavingExpert (MSE) Forums for this! There was a rather long thread about this on there a while back with tips about where to buy the sweets, bowls, everything basically for it and how to save money on it! I can't find it myself at the moment but if you do a search over there a few threads come up
