Sweetheart's Nite or Park hoppers

We are going 2/2-5/22. Trying to decide if we should attend the Sweetheart's Nite or get park hoppers. It will just be DH and myself for this trip. What do you suggest?? TIA

I'm guessing you have kid(s) from your pic on the teacups. I've never done sweetheart's night, but if I had the opportunity to go to something like that with DH child-free I'd probably jump on it!

Have you done park hoppers on previous trips? Are you planning a lot of sit-down meals? I like the flexibility of park hopping a lot, but could also easily see doing without it.

We have no dining reservations since we just booked our hotel and airfare this last week. Most of our meals will be mobile orders. Just trying to figure out if Sweetheart’s Nite is worth it. Also we will probably have the DAS pass.

I understand that I will not be able to use DAS at a special event. Didn’t know if I have it if I would need park hoppers

You need to first figure out why you'd want to pay extra for either of these.

I'd go for sweetheart nites if you want to see the special shows and character greetings that are only available for the event. I've never seen Beast in human form with Belle or Meg with Hercules during normal operating hours but they have appeared in previous sweetheart nites. Some princesses rarely appear with their princesses normally so this would be the time to see them. If you want to go on any rides at all during this time, I would not attend Sweetheart Nites and instead put that money towards Genie+.

Park hoppers have two purposes. One is to get you on more rides in both parks. If you get Genie+ with park hoppers, you will be able to every Lightning Lane in both parks on all your days. Even if you don't buy Genie+, having park hopping allows you to move over to the other park if it's less crowded or if you all of a sudden want to ride something in the other park. The other purpose of Park Hopper is to have access to things in both parks on the same day. For example, you may want to see the Lunar New Year Processional but prefer the rides at Disneyland. Or you want to ride Rise of the Resistance but eat in California Adventure.

Parkhopper unless you want to get your picture taken with a bunch of characters. Parkhopper has much more to offer and better hours.

If you are going to the park 4 full days I personally wouldn’t get park hopper. I personally prefer Sweethearts Nite BUT we are Key Holders and go to the parks often. However sometimes we force ourselves to not park hop since it forces us to slow down and explore. The after hours events are unique experiences. The atmosphere is different, it’s easier to take it slow and it’s less crowded so it feels more romantic.

We actually don’t really bother with the characters. We really enjoy sitting on benches that are normally packed or looking at views that are normally clogged with massive amounts of people. So to us it’s worth it even though we don’t care about the photo ops.
