Sweet taste in mouth

Anyone know what might cause everything taste EXTRA sweet? My sister started this yesterday. She says everything tastes like sugar was dumped on it. Even scrambled eggs, bacon, salad, drinks,etc.

Maybe it's Splenda! It tastes like sugar because it's made from sugar!

Is she on a low carb diet? That could trigger it.

Diabetes is also another.

Is she pregnant? Sometimes your tastes change. Some women get a strong hanering to eat dirt!

Is she on any medications? I know when they put me on steroids for my MS, I get a really awful metallic taste in my mouth. Imagine eating ice cream that tastes like iron ore!

I believe it can also be a symptom of Lyme Disease.

Hmmmm............yes she is doing the low carb "thing", but she has been (off & on) for a VERY long time.

She didn't put splenda on her bacon & eggs! Actually she was wondering if someone did that as a joke or something. Until she noticed it on everything else too.

Someone told her it could be from not having enough carbs. She had basically eliminated them altogether.
