I love the Sweet Potato Queens! I read all the books and then discovered the joy of listening to Jill Conner Browne read them her ownself on tape--I found one at the library book sale for $1 and then had to go out and buy more on tape when I discovered how the tapes are even funnier than the books!
I like the recipe in one of the books for Danger Pudding. My mom always made this (well, she still does and so do I now)--you boil a can of sweetened condensed milk in a pan of water for 3 hours and it makes this wonderful caramel stuff. People will always freak out when you make it because you CANNOT open the can. It's delicious and well worth the danger involved, though.
