I have a problem with sweet potato fries and there recent slow attempt at taking over DLR's side menu's. Both Tangarora Terrace and Hungry Bear have them as the only fry option and now they've been added to the Cafe Orleans menu as well. Now don't get me wrong I have no problem with people who enjoy sweet potato fries having the option of enjoying some on vacation, but I dont see why both options cant be available. Why cant I enjoy both my cheese burger with some regular potato fries when I go to hungry bear? The sweet potato fries are no healthy then regular fries and even if they were it seems silly that would be the reason when generally speaking your eating them with a cheese burger and a coke. Does any one else share my opinion? if not whats yours?

They are healthier than regular potatoes. They contain more fiber and vitamins than regular potatoes. That said, once they are fried up, they aren't exactly healthy for you, but they are healthier. If you want regular fries with your burger, Taste Pilots in DCA still serves regular potato fries, and their burgers are better than Hungry Bear's, even after the new menu.

As far as my opinion, I prefer onion rings :) Sweet potato fries would be second, regular fries third. I'm not a fan of french fries at all but I know that makes me the minority.

I know that a sweet potato is better but once its fried and then covered in powdered sugar I just don't see it being much benefit. I know that some people don't like french fries my little sister hates them she always orders apple slices. Thats why I think that both options should be available :) I know that village haus has regular fries to.

I personally can't stand Disneyland's new regular fries, they are disgusting, but the Sweet Potato fries are great. I personally wouldn't complain if they replaced regular fries everywhere in the resort. And, no they are not any healthier once they are fried, but they taste so much better.

That being said, there are many times where things that are not listed on the menu are available. For example at Hungry Bear (possibly Tangaroa Terrace as well), you can request regular fries, even though they are not on the menu. At Golden Horseshoe and Stage Door Cafe you can still order Mozerella Sticks. You may have to wait a little bit longer for your food though, but it is available. So the lesson here is always ask, the worst they can say is no.

I don't like fries too much, but often there isn't another option for the side or a meal automatically comes with fries.

If it could be I would enjoy Sweet Potato fries on the menus at DLR as an alternative to regular fries.

I know at hungry bear you can get onion rings or zesty coleslaw (which is very good) instead of sweet potato fries. (but I am one of those people who love sweet potato fries so I get the coleslaw and if I have someone to share with I get a side of sweet potato fries)

I agree with you, Sid. They should make both types of fries available! I know that if the sweet potato fries are the only option at a restaurant, me and my french-fry-addicted wife will probably go elsewhere :rotfl2:

I am amazed how worked up some people are getting over the sweet potato fries. In the entire park they are in two places. One of which is all they way in the DLH which the majority of people won't visit.

I have not tasted sweet potato fries yet, so I really don't know what they are like in flavor.

Ha ha.... very funny. You know what I meant. Anyway.....then I would probably like them, because I have a sweet tooth.

They are very sweet in taste. They are more healthy then regular fries. I in fact am a big fan of them.

I love sweet potatoes, but not as fries.
