hey everyone!
so im 14 now.. and im turning 16 on july 30th 2010. were going to be in the parks for 7 days for my sweet 16 . my parents told me that we can stay wherever i want and im aloud to bring a friend. im so excited that im planning for it now! so i have some questions.

1. WHAT HOTEL SHOULD I STAY AT? we can stay anywhere i want. but we have to either stay at a villa or have to rooms b/c it will be 6 people. i really want to stay at the polynessian b/c it seems beautiful! and from pictures and reviews it seems AMAZING! but we would have to get 2 rooms b/c of our amount of people. so where would be other places to stay which are nice? or do you think it is totally worth it to stay @ th POLY?

2. WHICH WATER PARK IS BETTER? since were going in the summer, we decided it would be benifical to go to a water park. but idk which one b/c ive never been to one before! any thoughts?

thanks everyone
:goofy:

I don't really have any adivce because i haven't been since i was 9 but your lucky! I have been begging for a sweet 16 trip...

hahaha so was i.. but my parents would rather do that then a party lol =]

we just don't have the money right now.

But disney world is my graduation trip so summer of 10' :]

omg ur going summer '10? so am i!
thats cool!
where do u wanna stay?

Wow, definetly a sweet 16! So, I dont have any advice on where you should stay, but I do have advice on the water parks.

Sooo, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. What my family does is we have a whole day dedicated to water parks, last time we did Typhoon Lagoon in the morning, Blizzard Beach until about 4, then started getting ready for dinner at Jiko's!

Is it possible to stay at both water parks for a full day? That is what we usually do, and I think its nice if you've never been to them before and you are staying a week. But here some things from both water parks I like.
Typhoon Lagoon:
You swim with sharks! How cool is that? More like swim over them... straight across the pool, but its really cool to just say you've done it before. (still worth it with the cold water) Crush n' Gusher is pretty cool, the water roller coasters. The thing is that they are short and get a line, so I would do those two things first. Then the wave pool is awesome, but I hear its being reconstructed right now :( And then they have less popular slides that are still fun to go do. They also have a lazy river.
Blizzard Beach- my personal favorite
Ok... so hopefully you will know the main slide there right? Summit Plummit. I've always been too chicken to try it, but it looks amazing (12 stories high). They also have the tobaggans racers and more small rides. Of course the lazy river (Cross Country Creek) there is awesome too, and just the theme of the park is fun. They dont have a wave pool. They do, however, have ski lifts up to the top! Its pretty cool, especially when you see all those people climbing the stairs to the top (that's a workout- believe me) Go on the Downhill Double Dipper! Its so much fun!

So... this is very long. My vote is actually full day at water parks, but if you really couldn't do that, go with Blizzard Beach. If you need more info on this, just go to disneyworld.com and under parks they have info.

Stay at WL Villas or FW...WL and FW are my favorite places because it is so calm and I like the outdoors. And I havent been to a water park in forever so idk. But it really depends on what you like

hahaha so was i.. but my parents would rather do that then a party lol =]

Me too!
I turn sixteen 4 days before you (7/27) and I think im going to Disney then? Haven't thought too deep into it since its in 2010. But my folks are fully aware that I want that instead of a party.
:P

The Polynesian is AMAZING.
Highly recommend there.

i've never stayed at the Polynesian, but its really prety there! and if u do stay there, make sure u eat at ohana! that is my FAVORITE resteraunt EVER!! lol

typhoon lagoon is like 10000000X better then blizzard beach - - in myy opinion lol
:)

OMG! You have the same birthday as me!

(But I'm 1993)

The Poly gets my vote.

1. WHAT HOTEL SHOULD I STAY AT?
From my experiences, I loved Wilderness Lodge and Boardwalk. The boardwalk has tons of activities, and it's super close to EPCOT and MGM. They're both walking distance. And they have friendship boats if you get tired :D

2. WHICH WATER PARK IS BETTER?
I've been to both, but I think that Typhoon Lagoon was more fun. I LOVED crush-n-gusher (and I'm not a huge water slide fan, not going to lie, they kind of scare me) But I rode crush n gusher multiple times (:

You are so lucky you get to go to WDW for your sweet 16. I'm trying to convince my parents to take me there as a graduation present in 2010 (:

hey!! well I definatly think the Poly is worth! Its beautiful and amazing.. but MY favorite part was that the monorail was right there to take you to either Epcot or Magic Kingdom! and I also love the fact that you were on the Seven Seas Lagoon.

but the Old Key West is a GREAT place to stay.. and it has LOTS of room too! it can fit 6 people in nicely :thumbsup2 (actually it could hold up to like 8 depends on what room you get)

and as for which water park? They're both great!! it would be like comparing apples with oranges.

if you're looking for a more relaxed park.. then Typhoon Lagoon definatly! but if you want to ride water slides then Blizzard Beach. but they're both good! Don't be worried on picking the right one because they're both fantastic :cutie:

Edit: Ohmygosh! I also agree and think the Board Walk is just as amazing!

If you seriously want the Poly, go for it. It's a beautiful resort.
I suggest browsing around allearsnet.com to look at a zillion pictures from all of the resorts.

I'm a fan of Blizzard Beach. If you like waterslides, go there. If you'd rather swim with sharks, go to Typhoon lagoon. Once again, allearsnet should help you there.

You have over a year and a half to plan, and what you like now could change in a matter of weeks. Wait before you get all hyped up on one place. Take at least a few weeks to just browse around on here and on other websites and in vacation planning guide books. Then make your decision.

Board Walk, Beach Club, Or Grand Flordian. Those Were All Great Hotels.
I Would Recomend Going to Typhoon Lagoon. Trust Me, I've Benn To Walt Disney World Like Almost 21 Times, I Think. Wow I've Been There So Much I Lost Count!!!!!!:lmao:

I have never stayed at the poly but we have pool hopped there, it is so beautiful and relaxing there but I would suggest staying at the boardwalk villas or anywhere in the boardwalk area because there are so many activities to do...you can go to the boardwalk, play in the arcade, walk to hollywood studios or epcot and even watch wishes from the boardwalk. its just so beautiful at night over there but thats just my opinion

as for the waterparks there are many different things at each one that makes it hard to choose just one

blizzard beach- has summit plummit which is amazing and they have a really good family tube ride compared to the one at typhoon which is horrible because it is so short. they also have a really cool lazy river and the mat slides are so awesome! (thats our favorite)

typhoon lagoon- the best thing here is the shark reef (you get to snorkel with fish) they also just but 3 new slides in last summer and they are amazing. they also have a great wave pool but it is usually so crowded.

The hotel I liked the most would probably be the Poly or the Beach Club. Both are in great locations and there is alot to do around each. The Beach Club has an amazing pool and has the villas.
