Sweepstakes winner/additional room

My DD and her DH have won a trip to WDW, have invited my husband and I. No reservations have been made yet, but will be staying at a value resort. Only 1 room for 4 adults, not happening. Everything will be tied to their room (magic bands, ticket, etc.)Want to do another room only reservation for us. Will have to go to check in to add a cc to our magic bands (under their room)since we have to pay for our own food.
Is this going to work, any suggestions on what to do. Spent many hours lurking on these boards and can’t find an answer. Thank you.

Yes, it's fine. I would set up your own My Disney Experience account with completely separate guest profiles just for the second room and do not link through Friends and Family. You can order a second set of MBs through that account just to open that room door, use the "unlock my door" feature on the MDE app or just ask for a RFID card to open the door. If you order the second set of MBs, you can just link your cc to your separate room guest folio and use those MBs to charge in the parks. The MBs tied to your DD and DH's room would then just have your tickets and give you the ability to open their room door.

For example - In DD/DH's MDE, have them create profiles for DD, DH, you and your DH for the sweepstakes room and tickets.

In your MDE, create separate profiles for you and your DH and book the second room with that account. Do not link this MDE account with your DD/DH's account.

You've already received some great advice so I just want to say congratulations as well. I'm always entering Disney sweepstakes and I never win a thing. I think some people just have better odds in life. I hope you guys enjoy the trip!

While you can’t use it to enter a park, You should be able to use it for food or other shopping either in a park, at any resort, or at Disney Springs. Alternatively, buy gift cards to use for your purchases.
