Sweatshirt Size 3X/4X

My neice has asked me to pick up a couple of sweatshirts for her in a size 3X or 4X on our upcoming Disney vacation. I am happy to do it.

Do most of the stores in the parks carry this size? Is DTD a better place to find them? Does one store have more of a selection of that size than others? Not sure what board to post so I thought I would try this one.

DTD's world of disney had plus sizes...but I got my shirts at the Emporium in the MK. The CM's even checked their back stock and found me the 2x tee I needed since it was not out on the floor. Everything POP and Sir Mickeys had a bunch of things in the larger sizes too.

Unfortunately I could not find the Tink hoodie I wanted in a 3X anywhere....and merchandising can't come up with which one it was. Next time I know from you DIS'ers to write down the sku!

My experience...

2X is fairly plentiful and easy to find throughout the world... 3X/4X is more difficult. I agree that World of Dis in DTD is good as well as the Emporium in MK. Mouse Gear at Epcot also has larger sizes. As a previous poster mentioned, if you don't see something out, ask a CM for help... they can check the stock in back to see whether there are any sizes not on the floor.

Catherines stores carry Disney shirt isn 3x, 4x, and 5x. If there is not one near you, you might be able to get it online. It has the Disney tag. Your niece might not ever know. Save a Disney bag and put it inside that.
Sometimes the Disney shirts might say 3X, but it does not fit a larger person. Catherine's Disney shirts fit nice. Right now, they are buy 2 get 1 free. I found a couple on Catherine's.com just now. Good luck.

Also I have found that the womens 3x is smaller than the mens 3x. I usually buy the mens, there are several that could be mens or womens as far as the design go and no one would ever know it was a mens shirt...same goes for t's and jackets too.

I have also found that the mens XXL fits like a 3X, just a little long in the sleeves. Sometimes these actually fit better.

I second the inconsistency in sizing for the larger sizes. My aunt bought 2 items in size 3x on her trip-- both were T-Shirts. One was hugely oversized and the other was tiny in comparison.

Someone beat me to it! I was going to say go for the men's sizes. Their clothes are sometimes better made than women's and the sizes are generous.

Also, as a 2x gal, I wear a Disney men's L. WHOOOOOO!



In addition, I've found great help with managers calling around to find sizes of things in other shops.
