swapping points

Is there such a thing as swapping points with other members? Like if I needed more points now than I have can I borrow from a member who has points that are about to expire then give him some of my points that are going to be valid two years from now so that he/she could use it then?

Though transfers are allowed, restrictions potentially prevent what you mention. First, you could not transfer points from two years from now; they have to be current use year points. Second, the rules state that you can either transfer points or receive transfered points once during the use year, but not both. In other words, you could transfer to the other member but that member could not then also transfer to you. However, different portions of the documents indicate transfers can be used to "exchange" points between members, so it is not clear. Nevertheless, without even trying a double transfer, you could agree to do what you mention with the other member in a side agreement; i.e., transfer from him now and you agree to transfer to him two years from now an equal number

You can do it but it takes trust in the other person. The one who goes first has much less risk. You can also do it by transfers but it's complicated.

You have to really get along well with your fellow DVC owners. For example I own at OKW. I have two friends that own at BW. I could conceivably make an 11 month reservation for them at OKW. They could make an 11 month reservation for me a BW. Thus eliminating the 7 month window. We haven't done it, and I am not looking to do it.
It seems possible.
