Swapping Magic Bands--Is this still okay?

I don't ride thrill rides. My BIL loves them them. Can I still swap Magic Bands with him (temporarily, obviously) so he can use my Fastpass for something like Tower of Terror (which I will most definitely not be riding). I've done this in the past, but I wasn't sure if it was still possible.

I did it last year. I see no reason why it wouldn't still be possible. They'd basically have to do the fingerprint scan to know you had the wrong band on.

We did it August. DH was supposed to ride thunder mountain with DD while I did Winnie the Pooh with DS. DH was not feeling well and wasn't up for a roller coaster. We switched, went on the separate rides and met back up afterward. No one cared at all when we tapped in.

Yes, it is still possible. You will have no problems swapping bands for fastpass usage while in the parks.

Yes, but just in case you are not aware, Tower of Terror is now a tier one fastpass, so if you reserve it just to give it to your boyfriend that will mean you won't be able to make fastpasses together on a major HS attraction you both like.

glad this has not changed. there are few Thrill Rides that my DD and I don't do and were planning to have DSIL ride with my 2 DGDs and then give the girls our MBs so they can ride again by themselves.

Somewhat related question - I know if you swap bands it has to be with a band with an admission that was actually used that day to enter the park. My question is does it have to have been used to enter the specific park or just used to enter any park that day? Similar situation where we have a couple younger kids who may or may not hop to a different park that evening depending on how the day goes and wondering if they don't go to the 2nd park whether we can let the older kids use those FP.

Has to be that park. If its later in the day ya’ll should be on 4th+ fastpasses anyways and they can just book what they want.

Well, my brother in law, not my boyfriend! He'd find that hysterical (my husband probably as well), but the only Tier One I'll ride is the Alien Saucers, so I'm not that worried about it (we'll try rope drop for that).

The magic band must be scanned in the park where the fast passes will be used. If the magic band has not been scanned for park admission, the fast passes will not be available. (The person never entered the park, so they couldn't use a fast pass).

Absolutely, as long as you've entered the park with the band at some point that day before he uses it.

Lol, sorry, that's what I get for skim reading too fast. Probably mixed this up in my head with another thread :D

Just to clarify, the person who the band is linked to has to enter the park but it does not have to be that exact band. I bring two bands with me. I scan in with my main band and then give my daughter my spare band that is linked to me in MDE and she uses that to use my FP. This way, I don't have to worry about her losing my favorite band.

Good tip!

And to add for those who only have 1 MB linked to the Profile, any linked plastic card provides the link to the FPs. You can use an old Party ticket or even stop by a Ticket Window to have a new plastic ticket card linked up.

Exaclty, they do not have to have scan into the park with that actual band. I carry an older band of my sons and DD carries an old but still active band of my DW's and we use those for TT and EE. We ride first scanning our bands and then go again using their FP.

This is a good point, because presumably, the person who isn't using the FP might want to access the hotel room or DDP credits.

Hadn't thought of that, but its a good idea fo rthe next trip. I always bring 2 bands anyway.
