Swapping magic bands for fp+?

Ok so for our upcoming trip we have a group of six. 3 are older adults and the rest is me dh and ds. We booked rides like tower and fop but only 3 will be going so the other 3 fp will be up for grabs. Are we able to ride it than switch magic bands and go again? Also if I have older magic bands can I just reactivate them with thouse people's info so I can just keep them on us? So each person would have 2 active bands and not have to go without one for the time we are riding.? Tia!

You can swap them between members of your party who have entered the park, but you cannot reassign them. A band is permanently assigned to each person in an MDX account.

As long as the MB is scanned to enter the park, anyone can use the FPs attached to it. As far as reactivating old MB, they cannot be reassigned to someone else.

As long as the guests who aren't using their FP's is in the park (or at least have been in the park that day), you can use them, no problem. Once a magic band has been assigned to one person though, you can't change the owner. If the people not using their FP's have an extra magic band, you can always ask to borrow their extra ones for the day.

Ok thank you! Maybe I will pick up a cheap one before we go. I have 2 sets for my 4 ppl but only 1 old mb still in a box I can activate. If I do this than my plan could work ya? Or is there a weird only 1 mb active which is the one scanned in? Sorry just wanted to make the swaps easyer but seems I'm.making it more complecated :/

You don't NEED a magic band, it's just convenient. If someone wants to use someone else's FP for a ride they'd either just borrow that persons magic band or their plastic card.

The only thing, like others have said, is the person who's not riding and lending their magic band or ticket for others to use their FP, they must have entered the park. Disney is fine with using each other's FP's, but their not fine if you're using someone's FP who hasn't entered the park. If they see this they'll lock your MDE account.

So feel free to get a magic band for those that don't have them if they want one, but it's not needed. You can use the same card they enter the park with

You're definitely making it more complicated

Either take their magic bands each time or each of the riders can keep a non-rider's ticket with them.

We did what you are wanting to do. Since there were 3 of us that were older in our party of six, we gave our extra Magic Bands to the 3 kids whenever there was a ride that was assigned to us but we had planned for them to ride the attraction with our FP+. I would take their bands for safe keeping and give them our bands. Once off the ride, we would switch back. It allowed the kids to ride way more thrill rides than they normally would be able to do. Since we go frequently, we didn't mind missing out during their special trip.

Dh used my MB for his second FP for FOP twice as I couldn't ride it anymore due to eye issues. We each had 3FP during our trip.

What are you anticipating them needing the bands for while you’re on a ride? Bands aren’t really needed for much at all.

Well if we go on twice in a row we would have the bands for prolly 45 min and they would prolly shop and not have money since cc is linked to mb.

Then just take their ticket cards instead. There is no reason to spend more money on extra magic bands.

The MBs just ACCESS that info.

So, if you just stop by any ticket booth, you can pick up a free plastic ticket that
will mirror all of the things that your MB can do in regard to FP+.

You can then use BOTH the MB and the plastic ticket for FP+ (etc.) every day.

Or you can get them fastpasses for a different attraction that they can use while you are on ToT.
As far as shopping and not having a band, they should always carry another form of payment. They can use that.
Don't make it complicated.
