Going to Disney in August with my son who will be just about a year old at the time. I am wondering if any of you have had experience with the baby swap at some of the rides. I was reading on AllEars about the process on ToT and it said you would have to enter with the child, go thru the 'preshow' which is very dark, and includes screams and thunderclaps, etc. I don't know...this seems silly to put the kid thru this 'scary' part. :confused3 What's the scoop on Baby Swap on this ride and any others you may have tried this with?
Thanks!!:flower3:

We had fast passes for TOT but my experience on other rides was that as a family we walked up to the cast member at the beginning of the line and asked for a baby/kid swap pass (it is kinda like a fast pass). One of us went through the standby line while the other stayed with DS, then we swapped and the second went through the fast pass line.

I honestly don't think a cast member will make you drag your child through a line that could be a scary experience for them.

Nope. Baby swap passes are given out at ToT at the entrance, before you get in the line. All you do is tell the CM you want to do a swap and they will give you a "rider switch" pass. Then whoever is waiting with the baby just waits outside until the first rider is done, then you use the rider switch pass to enter the FP line. He will not have to go through the pre-show. The same can be said for the majority of attractions. The only two I can think of that were different were Star Tours and Primeval Whirl. At Star Tours, you all wait in line together(nothing scary there), then at the ride entrance, whoever is keeping the baby walks through the ride cars and waits on the exit side. Then when the ride is over, you swap.
At Primeval Whirl, the entrance and exit are at the same location. So you all wait in line together, then one rides and when they are done, you swap right at the entrance/exit.

We love baby swap. It's super easy. At each attraction, just approach the CM at the ride entrance and tell them you want to do a baby swap.

No, they absolutely do not make a child go through this. You tell the CM at the front that you are doing the baby swap. The first person enters the regular queue while the other adult gets a pass (like Fastpass) and waits with the rest of the family. This is a good time to grab a snack with your kids. Your hubby get off ToT and joins you and the kids then it is your turn to ride (entering the fastpass lane) while hubby stays with the kids. The other good thing is, if I remember correctly, that the person with the child-swap pass doesn't have a windo of time in which to use the pass.

Use the regular Fastpass system when possible, tough, as you won't have to wait for the first adult to experience the attraction using the regular, usually lengthy, queue.

Thanks for the info everyone... I actually went back to AllEars to make sure I was reading right because it really does sound crazy the way they explain it!!!:lmao:

We used BabySwap alot when first DS was only 10 months old. We never had a problem anywhere. Grandma and Pap would go through the preshow line while DH, DS and I would go to the exit door. When Grandma and Pap got off, we got right on. A few times we were waiting with a few handicapped people. I never gave much thought as to how someone who is wheel chair bound or uses walkers, etc would get onto the rides. Now we know.
