Swap ideas for the new year (2007)

Altered Swap.
Disney Sidekicks
Pet Swap
Disney Rides

Love all the ideas so far. I really would like to do the holiday one again.

I have enjoyed the secret sister ones, and we have to do missbubbles. 39 cent.

On the TOURS swap, can you do some specific to Disneyland as well?

For the Monthly swap would you just sign up and be signed up all year or each month a differant sign up? I love this idea.

I was thinking we could do both a page kit and a newbie swap- Maybe not at the same time. We could list the months and you choose your elements and then make 12. That way you would get stuff for the whole year. It could be the stuff for a holiday in that month or an activity that one might enjoy in that month.

Also, I loved the scavenger hunt swap we did a while ago- I would gladly host that one.

I am definitely interested in the World Showcase swap! SIgn me up (After Jan 2, of course )

I like the idea of a seasons swap. I'm intrigued...

The pizza box swap is where I will fill a box with scrap stuff I don't use and then I would send it on to someone who s next on the list, say Nancy, and she takes out anything she wants and adds stuff she doesn't. Then she mails it on. Kind of like a circle journal. When it gets back to me we can either do it again or I can donate to items to Girl scouts, Make a wish, etc...

I just wanted to add my .02, I really like element swaps MUCH better than "kit" swaps, since personally, I dont use mats or frames for the most part.. and i stress when i have to make them!! LOL
I would love to host a library pocket character swap.. Winter is a great time for me, since my shop is only open 2 days a week....

What's a scavenger hunt swap?

The last time we picked an element (like brads) and then I would assign a theme or hoilday and you would look for something to fill that spot- It was a lot of fun last time. We did both homemade and store bought stuff. It gave me lots of cool embellishment- not just the run of the mill stuff.

I'm all for the monthly swap. I was just thinking of this the other day actually. Is it bad that I can be driving down the road and start thinking of swap types I need to join? LOL

The scavenger one sounds neat. I must have missed it the first time around.

I'm pretty good with Disney stuff for the time being. If thats even possible. LOL but I'm sure I'll change my mind once the sign-ups start. I'd hate to miss out on the great work everyone does.

It looks like the majority so far is looking at element swaps instead of kits which will be good for newbies plus since we have so many ideas we can keep the due dates short.

that's funny...I had a whole post typed out about hosting one of those, and then changed my mind, since it was around the time that there were lots of swap 'issues' going on. Every single time I get one of those catalogs, I think about it!

Last year I wish I would have signed up for the Prima flowers swap, so I would like do that this year. And I want to do Animal Kingdom because I didn't do one of those last year either. And I would love to host something. Oh, and since I like to do them, but I think I am about the only one, would people be interested in doing a paper piecing swap?

I think we might want to arrange the swaps so we have no more than a big swap (parks, character), maybe a single element swap (tags, pockets) and a embellishment swap due in the same month. I think people got into a little trouble with so many page kits at the same time.

I also wonder what people are thinking about the size of the groups. I know before I started swapping that there was a lot of talk about groups becoming too big. I remember seeing one with 24 people. So we did a lot of 5-6 people swaps this year, but it seemed like everyone signed up for multiple groups. It seems like people like getting a lot of different stuff, so I'm wondering if the small groups are just a little too small. But I think they are good for newbies.
