Swan vs Dolphin

We stayed at the Dolphin and if I had to do it again, I would pick the swan. The Dolphin was huge and we were at the very end of a LONG corridor. The exit stairs were right there but it was emergency exit only. So we had to walk down the hallway, elevator and all the way back as we zig-zagged around the jut outs. I love walking and we do 14 miles a day at Disney. But that walk was so annoying! Especially since the exit stairs were RIGHT THERE. What a tease.

We walked over to the swan and it was much more compact and closer to the path to Epcot and HS.

Personally I love the whole location so I would pick whichever is cheapest between Swan/Dolphin, Boardwalk, Beach and Yacht. If money was not a factor I’d pick Beach Club just because I like the vibe and it’s a 5 minute walk to epcot.
That being said they are all overpriced right now - at least for what I’m willing to pay.
Agree. I prefer the smaller size of the Swan but not enough to pay a lot more. The Dolphin is very similar. I love the coffee at Fuel in the Dolphin. I get the cheaper one unless it’s only @ $20 difference.

Need 3 nights near Epcot.
never did swan or dolphin and curious as to peoples thought?
which is preferable swan or dolphin?
is it worth it vs Boardwalk or Beach Club?
thanks
Have stayed at both multiple times and like them both.

Factual differences-

Dolphin is a larger resort so you will walk more, it has full beds, not queens, has a more vibrant/upbeat lobby. Both resorts have access to the boats to the parks and the boardwalk area resorts. Both have a variety of dining options, both are non-disney owned but are considered Disney deluxe so you get disney deluxe benefits like Extended Eve hours and early theme park entry. All the Swan/Dolphin and Swan Reserve resorts share buses, laundry rooms, in room dining service and the SR guests can use S/D pools.

We prefer Boardwalk over Swan and Dolphin but if there's no good deals to be had for BWV/BWI, we'll do S/D. If you walk to Epcot, it's a little bit further, probably adds 5-10 min to your Epcot walk depending on your pace but it's still a great location and typically a much better price than the Disney resorts. We don't mind full beds as a family of 4 at Dolphin and we prefer Fuel, the grab and go at Dolphin more but really, most of the differences for us are pretty minimal. If you do go to MK, keep in mind that the S/D buses go to the TTC and not MK entrance.
