I am going to WDW 12/30/02-1/12/02. I was wondering which resort was better, the Swan or the Dolphin? I haven't been to either yet and I wanted to know your opinion. Thanks!

I can't reply about the Swan because I haven't stayed there. The Dolphin was great and we plan on staying there again. The location and water shuttle service for either hotel is great. You will also love the Grotto pool. Access to Epcot, MGM, and Boardwalk couldn't be better. The bus to the Magic Kingdom was not a problem.

We've stayed at both, the Swan several times and the Dolphin this past May. We're staying at the Dolphin again in December and I can't wait.

We've enjoy staying at both resorts but something about the Dolphin made me like it more, maybe the atmosphere and convenience with Tubbi's. I thought I wouldn't like it as much as the Swan when we decided to stay there but ended up liking it more.

The Dolphin is quite a large hotel but that actually makes it fun. Our room was in the last west wing with a view of the EPCOT fireworks, BW, the lake, the Swan...it was cozy and fairly quiet because it was at the end of the hall although this did make for a long walk to the elevator. But, I preferred this location since it was quieter, plus it had an awesome view. And, when we got off the elevators Tubbi's was just right around the corner.

The rooms are physically similar, but the Dolphin has 2 double beds and the Swan has to queens. The Dolphin has one sink and a vanity outside the bathroom whereas the Swan has 2 sinks. The Swan is more intimate and smaller which is nice. The transportation from both is pretty much the same.

It's all the matter of preference. I was very skeptical to try the Dolphin after staying at the Swan so much, but was pleasantly surprised how much I liked it ...almost more than the Swan...;)

Thought I'd say Hello! We live in Harrisburg just southeast of you about an hour. I've never seen anyone this close to me on here before and I just had to say something. We're staying at the Dolphin next July after a Disney Cruise. Can't wait!

IMHO, the Swan has the better rooms while the Dolphin has the better restaurants. Dolphin is also closer to the grotto pool. But I wouldn't turn down a chance to stay at either one. ;)

I think both hotels are terrific... I prefer the Swan because it is smaller and less confusing.. but we do spend lots of time at the Dolphin going to Tubbi's for quick meals.. or to the ice cream place.. I like the Swan as it is just less busy......sort of quiet and relaxing..

I've never stayed at the Swan but have stayed at the Dolphin twice. While the Swan has queen beds, the Dolphin's rooms are larger. I like the fact that Tubbies is at the Dolphin and they also have an arcade there for the kids. It is also a little closer to the main pool, but not by much. If you have kids, I would go with the Dolphin because of these reasons. If you want something quieter, then go with the Swan. We always stay at the Dolphin because we have 2 adults and 3 kids and we need the rollaway, which they won't let us get at the Swan because of the size of the rooms.

Good luck with your decision.
