Family will be staying at the Swan this May. Is there bus service to Epcot? For most of the time my aunt and uncle will both have scooters, but 1 day they will only have one scooter and will need to rent from Disney. I've never used International Gateway so I'm unfamiliar with how to get them around.

I'm trying to figure out the best way to get them to the front of Epcot though some family is staying in an RV off property so maybe have them picked up at hotel and driven to front of Epcot would be best?

There is no bus to Epcot. There is a Friendship Boat which will accommodate scooters. It takes you to the International Gateway between UK and France. Then they would have to proceed through Epcot to the Front. There are Handicapped accessible Minivans that could be used to go to the Front entrance of Epcot. I don’t know how much that would cost

No bus service from Swan/Dolphin to Epcot. Friendship boats or walking are your two options using "Disney transportation" and bot are to the International Gateway. I would recommend the boat from the Swan/Dolphin dock to International Gateway. From there you can work your way to the Epcot main entrance. It's about a 10 - 15 minute walk from IG to the main entrance heading past UK and Canada. You'll have to factor in your walking / scooter speed for exact time.

ETA: And @Hopefully beat me by "that much"!!

We were checking out of OKW and into the Swan for one night before we left. I had rented an offsite scooter and we had no idea how to get it in the car to take it to the Swan. So I took a bus to DHS and then drove the scooter from the DHS bus stop to the Swan. It worked out just fine. They can drive their scooters from the Swan to Epcot easily if they rent from an offsite company. And they can leave it with Bell Services for the company to pick up when they leave.

Is there a reason you are starting at the front of EP? There are scooter rentals at the International Gateway entrance, so, if that is your goal, your aunt and uncle can simply get on a Friendship Boat to EP and rent a scooter at the IG entrance. If you are trying to get to the front entrance for other reasons, I would have the offsite family pick them up from the Swan and drive to the front entrance, hire an accessible Minnie Van or, simply go to the IG, rent the scooter and then proceed to the front of EP.

I agree with everything @DisneyWishes14 posted!!!

Depends on which company they rent from.
I rented from a company not on the Disney approved list and I could leave it with Bell Services at the Swan. I had to be there to get it when it was delivered at OKW, but not when it was picked up at the Swan.

Kay, yeah, Swan/Dolphin would have different requirements. btw, just for the sake of accuracy, four medical rental companies are Featured. WDW hasn't used the term approved for a relatively long time.

Be careful.

My wife is intermittently mobility challenged because of a medical condition, and on some occasions we need to rent a push-type wheelchair for her.

On one occasion we arrived by boat at the IG entrance to Epcot and proceeded to the wheelchair/scooter/stroller rental station to rent a wheelchair. We were told "Sorry, we're just a satellite location and we have none. You'll have to go to the main rental location at the front entrance to Epcot."

So I schlepped to the front entrance and back.

I assume that same risk applies to scooters.

What does a satellite location mean? If you can't rent there what is it for?

Right?

That's kinda what DW and I said to each other but were too nice to say to the young CM who delivered the news. I suppose we could have gotten agressive and demanded a wheel chair be brought from the front of the park, but thought better of it.

But it does seem useless to have a place that "might" have wheelchairs available.

Not sure about the "satellite" designation, but we have a family member who sometimes needs a wheelchair or scooter, and we've encountered situations at both Magic Kingdom and Epcot main entrances when the scooters are gone in the late morning, so if you intend to rent one from Disney then you'll need to arrive early, or be prepared to use a wheelchair.
