I am looking at booking one of these and was just wondering why is one higher priced than the other. The Dolphin had higher prices on the same night as the Swan. I guess I just never heard anyone talking about there being a price difference between the two.

Please advise, just wondering, is one better than the other?

Thanks.

I am surprised the Dolphin came up higher than the Swan. The Swan used to regularly be about $20 a night more than the Dolphin before renovations were complete. This summer they were the same price. The Swan is a Westin and the Dolphin, a Sheraton. Westins are usually considered to be more luxurious though I don't think that's the case with these two. The Dolphin could possibly have a convention booked so discounts aren't showing up.

If it makes any difference, we wanted to book the Dolphin this summer because we loved our first stay there. It was full, so we stayed at the Swan, and liked it even more! The Swan is smaller and easier to get around. You do have to walk over to the Dolphin for Tubbi's and the Dolphin has a more impressive lobby. It actually took us less time to get to the Grotto pool from our room at the Swan than it did from our room at the Dolphin. When we were at the Dolphin, we were on the East Wing, so it was a longer walk to get anywhere. The Swan also has 2 sinks in the standard room and queen beds vs. oversized doubles at the Dolphin.

You will love either hotel. They are right across from one another, so you can easily enjoy the amenities at each one.

We have stayed at both, they are both awesome! Some people prefert the dolphin because that is where Tubbi's (24 hr snack place) is located. The swan is much smaller and the dolphin has the convention center that serves both hotels. ::MickeyMo

The Swan definitley is higher priced, always, so I am surprised. We stayed at Swan last xmas week and loved it! We also ate at Dolphin Fountain and Fresh so we got to see both resorts. We stayed CL at Swan which was very nice. We liked the Swan because it was smaller. We are staying BCV from12/26-12/31/04 and was looking for one night 12/25 and got Dolphin for $139(Swan was $159). So we are trying Dolphin this time. Can't beat the location...

ps join Starwood Preffered Guest Program before you go if you are not a member. It is a great program..its free to join. You'll accrue quite a bit of points staying at either. I also got SPG amEX card and that really pays off.
