Swan in June - Questions?

Hello!
Our family of 4 will be staying at the Swan at the end on June. We currently have a traditional room booked at the Entertainment Book Rate. I have a Starwood Preferred Guest card - no points as of yet. Does this get you anything? We have never stayed at the Swan before. Since we are traveling with DD(4) and DS(7), I wanted to ask if there is a certain location/floor in the hotel that we should request. Also, how is their kids camp? My husband and I are celebrating our 10th anniversary and would like a night out.

You can go to spg.com and it will give you the benefits. You can upgrade to CL with 1-2000pts or ask for complementary at check-in. We were on club level and tried to get suite upgrade, but they were booked. If you don't have any points, all you can do is wait until you check-in and ask. If you have points, the website tells you how you can upgrade 5 days before. We have 14000points and will get 10000 more on first bill because we got starwood am ex. You can see it on website also. In other hotels,(Sheraton in Delaware) they automatically upgraded us to club level before we even checked in.
