I have never stayed at either Swan or Dolphin.

We are needing two nights before our stay at OKW.

I have gotten prices for teacher rate and it is available for my days.

$129 - Traditional
$154 - Lake
$164 - Top Floor

So I have two questions. I have heard something about new beds at the Swan.

Question 1: So which to choose, Swan or Dolphin.

Question 2: Which view? Is the extra $35/night worth it for the Top Floor view.

Thanks,

Joe

Hi Joe,

I don't know that I can help you with the question of whether to spend the extra $$ to upgrade your room, but I would suggest the Swan over the Dolphin (unless you're really into cheese pizzas at midnight like my family...Tubbi's at the Dolphin has the best cheese pizza in the world. lol) Anyway, the bed we got at the Dolphin last Christmas was terrible. Thus, I would reccomend the Swan where all of the renovations have been completed. As for the upgrades, I don't know if they would be worth the money. How much time you spend in your room would seem to be the integral factor here? Either way you choose, I think you will be happy with your choice. Oh yes, did I mention the cheese pizzas...

Personnally I WOULD pay the extra $35 per night and go for the top floor. I never have cuz I always had to have a balcony...and there aren't any that high but I did wander up to the top of the Swan and found a balcony to step out on and the view was awesome....go for it :)

I would GUESS that the top floor views are better from the Dolphin if you're facing Epcot but that is a just a guess....but I would have to say that I would go for the Swan just because their renovations (with heavenly beds) are almost complete.

Having stayed at both several times, I'd say your choice of resorts depends on what is more important to you. The renovated rooms at the Swan are wonderful - very lovely, and very comfortable. Just be sure to request a renovated room. The downside is the lack of quick food or snacks at the Swan. If you want some quick food, you need to head over to the Dolphin or out to the Boardwalk. For my fiancee, who needs real milk for his coffee, and a steady supply of IBC root beer, this was a real inconvenience. When I travel without him, I prefer the Swan. I also like the fact that the Swan is just that little bit closer to the Boardwalk.

All the above responses are good. If you stay on the top floor of the Swan, it is club level and has food three times a day for your enjoyment. It was wonderful. I also thought the view from the Swan was great, MGM, Boardwalk and World Showcase. I would think the view from the Dolphin on the east side would be awesome: I have seen it from pictures posted here on the Dis.
I have heard that the renovations are complete at the Swan(beds are queen size) and that they have begun at the Dolphin(beds are double). So many decisions!

We are just back from the Swan last week, and I agree with all the posts above. You can't get LATE night food at the Swan unless you order room service-no machines or Tubbi's. However, in the early morning (about 6) there is a little kiosk open in the Swan lobby near the pathway to the Dolphin that has fruit, cereal, Krispy Kremes, Croissants and muffins, milks of all sorts in cartons and juice. AND the walk to Tubbi's from the Swan only takes about 5 minutes.

We had the heavenly beds, and they were nice-seemed a little bigger than a normal queen to me. We went for the standard view, figuring we weren't going to be in the room much, and were upgraded to a lake and resort view-very nice. We were fine without the Club Level and such because we usually only eat a small breakfast anyway. Oh-and we had the nurse's rate-God bless the Swan!
