DU got me $179.00 a nite at the Swam but I check travelzoo

Thank you SOOOOOO much for posting this! I just booked a room at the Swan at this rate for Dec. 23 & 24! We have Pop Century booked for Dec. 21 & 22 and have been debating about staying longer AND I had been looking at the Swan and Dolphin (because my husband teaches at a university and wondered if we could get the teacher's rate). This is a SUPER rate! We have never stayed here. I am SO excited!

Anyone who has booked at Swan and Dolphin............
quick, get on thier site and register for the Starwood Preferred guest card.
It gets you reward points for staying there, but they don't add up very quickly, but I have stayed at S&D 4 times at the Nurse rate and have been upgraded to fantastic views and concierge each time. I think having this card does have alot to do with it because when I stayed there in the past I got views of the parking lot or the garbage area.
Of course it doesn't hurt to ask for an upgrade at check in, I always do that too. Peggie

If you don't mind me asking, what was the total rate after everything was added? Also, did they indicate only a few rooms at that rate? Did the person you spoke to seem familiar with the code?

Totaly "per night" with tax was: $110.30 (that was what they charged to my credit card for the first night's stay).

Yes, she seemed familar with the rate (I told her I saw the special on the internet that said to mention the rate code "PARKS"). She was very nice and said they still have rooms at that rate.

If you look at the website listed above for Travelzoo, you will see that this offer ends Dec. 3rd, so they must be trying to fill up some rooms for that time frame.

Actually this has made me feel a lot better because we thought about going the week between Christmas and New Year's, but the week of Christmas worked better for us. Now I am thinking the crowds might not be as bad for the time we are there as it would have been for the week between the holidays (if it were busy, they wouldn't have special like this, right?).

Anyway, I hope this helps! Can't wait to stay here for our first time!

We are booked already at the AP rate from Dec 11-16th. She said she could change the rate for the 13, 14 and 15th but the rate for our 1st 2 nights would have to be changed from the AP rate of $189 (4 adults) to $249. It would have changed our total from $945 to $947 so I just left it. She also said it would not be as good a view as the AP rate is getting us. Evidently these rooms are going fast as the 12th and 13th are already gone.

I booked my room (Dec 13- Dec 25) a couple months ago at the "internet rate" ($146.30/night). Can I change the rate??? Anyone knows?

I just called this evening and was told I could change, however, 2 of my nights were already sold out for the special code. They were the 12th and 13th, so you would have to pay a different rate for those 2 nights.

I called about an hour ago and the lady said I would have to cancel my existing reservation first. I'll be charged 1 night ($143.46) as a penalty if I cancel. That's ok with me as it's still cheaper. However, she said she couldn't cancel my order (she said she's not allowed to cancel reservations made at the Internet rate .. She told me to call back on Monday before 6pm. I totally don't understand this. I tried to cancel my reservation on the Starwood website and I'm getting an error.

I'll call back on Monday and hopefully everything will work out fine. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I called again. The phone number is a direct line to the swan/dolphin....but it is closed now so they connect you to central reservations who knows nothing about the special rate. They told me to call in the morning after 9AM. So, I will try then.

It sounds like whoever you spoke to thought rooms were available for your entire stay, but I was told the 12th and 13th were sold out.

Hi BC,

I just called and changed my reservation. Instead of connecting to the Starwood central reservation, I was connected directly to the Swan/Dolphin reservation centre. The lady was able to cancel my existing reservation with a $143.46 penalty and rebooked a room for me at the PARKS rate... for my entire stay (Dec 13-26)!!! I've saved over $400 (before tax)!!! This is great! BC, you should call them again now. Good luck!!

I just called and was told there was no availability as others have said on the 13th. However when I try to book online. I get no where near the internet rate some have quoted. How do you go about getting that?
